In college, I studied screen printing. Heat is all that is required to dry the design on the shirt. We had a big rotating belt in class that dragged the shirt through an oven-like environment. the same thing I've seen DIYers on YouTube use blow dryers, or you can run a hot iron over it once the ink is completely dry (probably a day or multiple hours to be safe), but not directly on the ink (use something like an old thin rag or special paper instead). You can use it to watch YouTube videos. You must ensure that the heat is sufficiently hot! But, as I mentioned, it can work in these ways.
There is no need for spline because the mesh is stapled to the screen.
The transparency film is only compatible with inkjet printers, thank you.
I'm no expert, but I've tried both rubber and hard mastic squeegees and can't tell the difference. The most important thing, it appears, is to get the ink out of the screen properly. br>In the end, if your screens are good and properly exposed, the squeegee shouldn't be a big deal.

If you plan on doing 10 or more projects, this kit is perfect for you. I have 15 shirts to silkscreen and want to learn how to do it. The screens aren't very durable, and the emulsion that comes with them flakes off after about 20 minutes of use. There are 30 swipes total. As a result, the image's detail is quickly lost. As you can see, there are a number of other factors to consider: It's a delicate task to spray it out. Other emulsions can withstand a more abrasive spray, and the detail lasts much longer. The screens themselves are of low thread count and do not hold the burned image for as long as screens of higher quality. I recently did 800 shirts for a project and had to redo the screen burn about every 30 shirts, so I had to invest in better screens and emulsion to finish in a reasonable amount of time; however, if you only have a few to do and want to try it out, this is a good place to start.
First and foremost, an update: br>After a few interactions with the seller, you should be able to: Caydo Online has done everything they can to make things right for me. In this sale, they get a big thumbs up for their customer service! Here's an updated version of my review of what I got.
- I bought these screens because they were cheap and I wanted to give my daughter more options than the single screen that came with her Speedball kit. The items I received and my thoughts on them are listed below. br>br>* Please note that these are NOT 110Mesh screens. They have a mesh size of 100Mesh. While this may not seem like a big deal, it should be noted that if you're looking for a specific screen thread count, this may not be what you're looking for. br>br>* Pine wood is used to make the screens. This is neither a bad nor a good thing; just be aware that there is a STRONG pinewood smell. If you haven't smelled it yet, you will after purchasing this kit. br>br>* All of the screens are off by 1/4". The internal dimensions do not correspond to the listed dimensions. If you subtract 1/4" from the listed measurements, you'll get a more accurate size; for example, if you need a 10" x 14" screen, this kit will only provide a 9 3/4" x 13 3/4" print area. Again, this isn't a huge deal because the 10x14 screens, for example, have a portion of that area taped off to prevent ink bleed through on the edges. br>br>* You can cut your screens with plastic knives. They all have a very coarse finish on the plastic ink knives they provide. There's some leftover flashing from the shoot, as well as a nasty residue. Both issues must be addressed before using these on your screens; a quick wash in soapy water and a light sanding of the edges will suffice. br>br>* The bottom of the screens is stapled. Again, this isn't a big deal, but it's worth mentioning so that excessive force isn't used on a screen that doesn't have any kind of support underneath it. Metal spatula, br>br>* The metal spatula serves its purpose well. If you're doing a large print, I recommend using a spoon to get large amounts of ink onto the screens. * Squeege, br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> The only thing that is dimensionally accurate is the squeege, which is made of some sort of rubber (in my case, orange transparent rubber). It has a length of 9 and 7/16" and a width of 9 and 7/16". 4375". The handle is again made of Pine wood, and the rubber is stapled in place. Mine has some residue that needs to be cleaned, but it gets the job done! br>br>While I was disappointed with what I received, the product will still meet my needs and will not impede a beginner's ability to screen print. I'll definitely look into what else Caydo has to offer.
To get you started, this is an excellent kit at a reasonable price. Just keep in mind that this will not provide you with everything you require. You'll also need screen printing ink, photo emulsion, and scotch tape to keep your transparency on the screen while it's being burned. br>I'd also recommend picking up some Amazon push pins, which are a cheap way to hold your screen in place while the emulsion dries (place one on each corner of the wooden screen frame).
This is my first time doing a screen print, and I'm really enjoying it. The photo was created using a canvas tote, speedball paint (some of the paint appears to have a bit of air in it), and a vinyl print of a fish. It went very smoothly.

Overall, all of the products have been beneficial, but I can't give them all five stars because the squeegee sizes don't correspond to the screen sizes, making it difficult to apply the emulsion layer smoothly. Aside from that, I think it's a fun kit that's well worth the money!.
I was a little hesitant to buy something that wasn't made in the United States. Because everyone, especially beginners, seemed to gravitate toward the Speedball brand. However, when compared to the Speedball screens, these screens are of excellent quality and a great value. In comparison to the Speedball large screen, this package essentially gives you two screens for free. My screensqueegee has been producing excellent results, and everything is easy to clean and reuse.
This was incredibly simple to use and clean! My purchase has made me extremely happy!.
