There is no way to maintain a straight edge with this product due to how fabric feeds into the cutting mechanism, it ruffles the edge on knits even when you treat them properly, and it mimics serging in the opposite way. Instead It works on knits as well as wovens etc. I also find it a good idea to test this on a scrap of fabric and play with the tension until you find the right amount. Be sure to use the overlock foot because it instantly flattens edges If you don't use this foot (using a standard or universal foot), it will curl the edge under and make the edge unattractive. This may occur if the tension is too high. The following overlock foot should serve you well.
The needle just keeps hitting the bar in the foot as the fabric gets thicker. My file and dremel set is out and ready to eliminate the problem with this very narrow bar. I will widen the hole for the needle by cutting it out. Perhaps it would work if the needle was positioned on a machine. In fact, I would return it if it was possible but I live and work mostly in Boquete, Panama, so dropping it back onto my doorstep would be very difficult. In case I wanna stop! My eyes landed on the side cutter, so I turned back around to U-Boat I watched it work on YouTube and looked at it again. This is not in the manual, of course. Normally, the side cutter would have worked from the get-go if this screw had not been loose. In the end, I used it to stitch some canvas and it worked fine. It's not as good as a sew overlocker or serger, but it does the recommend that it be used as a poor man's serger now since it's considered to be excellent.
Watch your fingers when using this device, as the blade is exposed. It was delivered a day early, on Monday, after I ordered it on Saturday. The good is being delivered to us about 12 hours a day. It's hard not to love them!.
This is exactly what I said. The installation process was very simple. It was no problem for me to use this attachment. As a matter of fact, I thought it was The other reviews said that the blade didn't cut through the material As far as I know, I have only used it on flannel, and it went through four layers of 100% cotton flannel with no problems. It might just be a matter of learning a new product, not really a defect with the product. However, I'd rather have a real serger now, so this is the best and cheapest alternative for now. As far as durability goes, I have no idea. This has been a great experience so far.
It's not uncommon for me to purchase things like this as a gift for my wife to test out this one is specifically to replace her babylok serger. It was our goal to make sure it worked.
The machine does not feed straight and does not cut well.
The label states that the shank is low. There is no way it will fit my Baby Lock low shank machine (I find that my other low shank feet fit perfectly, but this one doesn't come low enough to reach As a result, I gave it three stars, as it seems very durable and looks good. After I give it a try, I will update this rating.
You'll save a lot of time if you use it instead of. Overcasting should be done by hand first, then trimming the seams. The product is sturdy and well-built I made it.
