With this foot, I can quilt more precisely and quickly than ever before. This is the same foot that Singer recommends, and it works with other machines as well. It works perfectly on both my Singer and Brother sewing machines.
I was so excited to get the foot and was looking forward to starting my first quilt! However, I was disappointed because the foot was not straight and the needle kept hitting the foot, preventing me from sewing anything! @$@. I tried bending the needle slightly to get it to miss the foot, but I couldn't, and I tried readingjusting the foot without success: (br>The good news is that the company promptly sent me a replacement, preferring that I return the defective one: )br>I haven't yet tested the replacement foot to see if it's straight, but I'll let you know as soon as I do.
This foot has left me very disappointed. I had purchased a foot that looked similar but was not compatible with my Janome or Singer Featherweight machines. It was even tested on a sibling. However, the instructions are usually a waste of time. It's as if they're too lazy to be specific. There are so many different versions of their feet that it's difficult to figure out which one fits your machine. The Singer brilliance accessory feet are limited to a few on the website, but it came with a lot. It's a minefield of foot options if you're looking for compatibility. Take the free motion foot, for example. The foot of a hoop (made entirely of metal). everything is made of metal Great. Make an effort to obtain one. You'll only be able to get one with crappy plastic. Ebay is brimming with knockoffs for a fraction of the cost. I really like the machine. This was not a good fit for my Futura 400 XL singer. My machine's plastic shank broke early on, so I had to replace it with a metal shank. This foot has a lip on the back that collides with the metal Shank, which lifts the foot off the feed dogs and prevents material from being caught between the feed dogs while stitching. Did I not.
My machine needle just brushed up against the hole's side. I wouldn't risk it if your machine doesn't have a precise needle position setting. My husband widened the hole, but this resulted in burrs on the bottom of the foot, which I imagine would catch on any fabric you were sewing. I'm not sure; I didn't want to take any chances, so I tossed the foot away.
