Questions & Answers
Someone with your machine would be better suited to answer, but my wife said that, based on the reviews, it can handle thicknesses up to 3/16 (converts to 6/32), which she has done herself. She believes it will work on 5/32 and 1/8 (which converts to 4/32) welting because 8/32 converts to 1/4 inch. It depends on the material and needle you're working with, as it always does. It should work if the other feet on your machine attach similarly to this one AND the length of the attachment bar is the same (she believes this one has a 1/4 inch opening). Her sewing machine is a Singer Heavy Duty 4452. She hopes that the information she has provided will be useful.
I used cord with a diameter of about 1/8 inch.

To sew slipcovers for my armchair, I bought this pipping foot. Although I have not yet begun my project, I have practiced sewing cording to strips of fabric and am pleased with the results. I was skeptical when I first received my pipping foot because the area where the pipping would go looked a little small, but it worked perfectly with my 3/16 cording (I don't think it would work with anything much larger). I haven't tried any other pipping feet, so I can't say whether this one is better or worse than others on the market. I believe this will be sufficient to sew all of the pipping I require. When I finish my slipcover, I'll post an update.
I was concerned that it wouldn't be able to handle four layers of vinyl and a 1/8" cable, but it did!.
I'm so glad I took the chance because the one for my Brother machine was five times the price. It works well and the piping can be neatly applied. I first looked up how to use it on YouTube. You must also ensure that your needle is in the correct position. I'm all for purchasing a tool that will make sewing easier. Also, the delivery was very quick.
It took some time for me to figure out what was wrong, but the pin diameter is too small. It has a length of 0. 063 inches, with a required value of 0. As a result, it won't fit into the mount because it's only 077 inches long. My sewing machine, by the way, is a Singer CG-100. 590.
It was designed to work with the Singer 4452 and was capable of sewing through multiple layers of upholstery fabric with ease.
Does a good job with small, narrow cording, but not with large or fat cording.
It was the perfect size for applying 5/32" Plastic Foam Welt Cord Piping to upholstery fabric. It was a huge help with my project! Because of its usability and value for money, I would strongly recommend this product. (I gave it a four because it was a little difficult for me to attach the foot to my brother's machine, but once it was in place, it worked perfectly. ).
Unlike piping, the guide is much smaller. It's not as simple as it appears. This foot guide is too small for most piping.
