So, these presser feet come in handy. The "Stitch in the ditch" foot, also known as the "Edge foot," sews 1/8" from the edge. This foot is used with a machine that has needle positions that can be adjusted to the left or right. br>The 1/4" presser foot sewed a perfect 1/4" from the edge, making it ideal for Top Stitching. Because this foot only has a small circle opening, the needle must be in the center position. I decided to keep these feet in case I decide to take up quilting or patchwork in the future. The quarter-inch guide is just that: it's a guide; it won't keep you on track if you start to stray. Because the metal guide is too flexible, it bends outward instead of holding firm, allowing your seam allowance to grow if you aren't careful. I anticipated it to be more substantial and less adaptable. I haven't tried the stitch-in-the-ditch foot yet, so I can't comment on it.
The 1/4 inch foot was required for quilting, and it has greatly aided my beginner sewing skills by keeping seams much more precise. This is something I would recommend to any quilter.
These shoes are fantastic and extremely simple to use. The 1/4 inch foot is really nice and easy to use, and it doesn't bunch up the fabric. These are the ones I would recommend. br>Update: These feet are fantastic, in my opinion. It makes sewing the 1/4-inch seam a lot easier.
The quality of the seam foot is poor. I bought it to replace my original one, which had broken after many years, and this one couldn't even finish piecing a quilt before the end, keeping the stitch a quarter of an inch lifted up and no longer working as it should. I strongly advise against using it. This is the first time I've ever been so dissatisfied with an Amazon purchase.
The metal guide on the 1/4 inch foot presser was loose, making it difficult to use for a beginner. As I previously stated, I am a beginner and assumed that this was normal. However, today as I was preparing to use it, the metal guide simply fell off. What a waste of time. It was only three days ago that I received it. The quality is very low.
Until I heard about these, I had no idea how simple quilting could be. For newbies like me, they guarantee precise seams. Because of these, I was able to perfectly align all of my fabric pieces.
I asked if this would fit on my type of sewing machine and received a few responses assuring me that it would, but neither of them did. My foot/bar clamp is a little too big for these shoes.
