This foot does just what I expected it to. It works very well. After practicing on some strips of quilting cotton, I found that it's important not to use any tension on the fabric, you just want to let the feed dogs do their job. The length of the stitch I used allowed me to gather the 44" width of the strip to 30", which is about 20" wide, which is good enough for most of the boho style skirts and ribbon projects I want to make.

I was able to use it on my Brother XM2701 with no problems. At first it was difficult to start due to my unfamiliarity with it. checked it on a tee shirt. I had the tension at 6 and the needle to the left, length at 3 and it worked well. Still a little tricky, I think if I use it on a lot of different materials and have enough practice, I'll be able to do it more easily. The fabrics also need to move at separate times, so I have to get used to that. I am very pleased with the price and the prompt shipping. No complaints have been lodged.

In particular, this gathering foot is a great buy, especially for the price. The original one is I lost mine as well. Waited until the last minute to order this one but time didn't make magic to bring it back. My project is too important for me to wait any As of now, I've gathered 22 double tulle layers and everything appears to be in order. Although I would have liked a bit more power for gathering, I'll take it. When I need something, I do not mind trying to pick up the bobbing thread a little to get it. As soon as there is an update, I will update my review. Currently, it is great, and should save you good money and huge amounts of time should you ever need to work on a major.

I'm not able to use this. It has been hours of watching videos on how to do this, and I have adjusted the tension settings, but still I cannot get it to work. This is an extremely disappointing experience. I do not recommend it. However, it does not perform as hoped for. Yes, it fits my machine, and yes, it is the correct part for my model, but it does not perform as expected.

In the beginning, it was amazing, but after a while it stopped gathering for some strange reason. There is no way to gather it after I've tried everything! As I was able to get it to work when I first got it, it seems I may have done something wrong and cannot figure it out, so I am now looking.

As long as you closely examine YouTube videos of this type of foot, use a low shank sewing machine, and lengthen your stitch, you will probably have no problems.
