Having read the reviews of this walking foot, I was very disappointed. had hoped that all my fellow sewers would do a better job There are err. "This walking foot is great!" "I love it! It's an amazing experience! I can sew quilts more easily with it, as it holds down my slippery fabric. But it's no good! One or two reviewers have complained about the product breaking immediately. It broke 6 months later!" OR "That broke 6 months later!" Never once did anyone mention or think to mention that it is necessary to even attach the foot with an accessory screw! It occurred to me as I was looking at the instructions to install the walking foot, "that's odd! The needle screw looks different than mine. " And, low and behold, the walk foot will not attach correctly. It is best if a special screw came with the walking foot if a special screw was needed to install a special I feel sorry for you! Here are a few tips to keep you on track A screw for the accessory is not sold by Amazon).
I took it apart, and I found that the internal metal parts were grinding against each other. My boyfriend was able to adjust the worn out pieces and add lubrication to the joints. The product works like a dream after the modifications, but it was not lubricated well at the factory and had been ineffective until we changed it. It is highly recommended that you disassemble it and add grease as soon as you receive it to resolve this issue.
I got this foot for my Brother JX2517 machine and found this to be easy to attach and useful. My experience with this product ranges from several different types of fabrics (woven and knit) to a variety of projects. Thus far, it has proven to be extremely useful. *UPDATE (7-7) This is (19) The Singer Stylist 7258 sewing machine I just bought is a Singer Stylist.
UPDATE (1-) I tried this foot on my new machine and it fits both my Singer and Brother. The system continues to work smoothly.
As a passionate motorcycle rider, I've closely followed the process of sewing patches onto leather vests and jackets for years. As part of this, I also examined the fees they charged. Another of my reasons for buying a sewing machine is that I recently had to have some motorcycle pants hemmed and for the cost I did it myself. Due to the long wait time and the relatively simple task, I simply didn't find it worth it. While I've sewed a few things since then, I still have a lot to learn. Rather than make fork gators, I decided to make some motorcycle neoprene fork grips. The neoprene arrived, I measured the fabric, and when I was ready to sew, I began. We ripped up the neoprene! According to my YouTube research, one of these "foots" might be an option. This has made my life so much easier!
To be honest, I was having a lot of frustration. These things are incredible! Sewers with more experience may already know about these, but that's not the case for me! Thanks for telling me about it and for sending it to me! Despite the neoprene being thick, I was able to sew it up easily! Having to read through the directions on how to install it seemed daunting, but if you're an experienced sewer and know how to use a screwdriver, it wasn't that difficult. I would definitely recommend it to any sewer regardless of skill level!.
As a result of reading the reviews for the knock-off I finally decided to buy a genuine Brother walking foot instead of a cheap clone ($15). In reality, when it arrived, it didn't have a Brother logo on the side, and it looks like every other one. You must knock- This product is in a bad state (broke after two weeks, cheap feeling, oil leak, Therefore, I spent the $50 on what is supposed to be authentic. As of yet, I have no idea whether it was worth it. The walking foot is sort-of a unit like this. The lower dog feet of this loom do not draw the fabric in, but draw it forward (as do those of all the other looms I suspect). Instead of going forward an appropriate amount for the stitch length selected, the articulating upper feet are advanced forward a certain amount and the presser foot is raised up while the articulated upper feet are pressed down, so the fabric is held between the articulating upper feet (which glide smoothly). This device, then, certainly assists with the movement of the fabric through the machine. If the device was able to power draw the fabric forward, it would only be useful for one stitch During operation, it does not matter how long the stitch is, so I imagine that is why it is designed according to this method. You can quickly select the left- or right-tilting option because it has the wide opening It is centered If you want to zigzag, either to the right or to the left It goes zig-zag. For $50, it feels a bit cheap. There has been no damage, so I have no cause for complaint. Assemblies of thicker thicknesses are well handled by the system.
Over the course of about a month, the product worked well. There was a lot of banging and jumping going on. My sewing machine got locked up and I almost broke it. When I tried to rip out the area around where it left marks on a quilt I was making, it left marks. These are just useless pieces of.
I purchased the walking foot from this company believing it to be a BROTHER product. The company I received a walking foot from provided generic walking aids. I consider this to be false advertising. There should be a statement in the add stating that generic products are being sold. I needed an original BROTHER WALKING FOOT for my Brother Machine. I did not receive what I believed I had paid I did not receive a BROTHER product when I received the walking foot.
The foot is one of my favorites. The fabric is walked along as it goes. After viewing a quick video, I was able to attach it to the machine. As someone else mentioned, you did not require a "specialty screw" to use it. The product seems to be a great product. I haven't run into any issues while I have been using it.
