The distance between the bar guide and the needle should be 3/8", not 3/8"

As a result, it's not a quarter of an inch. To double-check, I measured 3/8" from the inside of the guide bar (where the fabric would rest) to the needle hole with my seam ruler.

I was using a different clear 1/4" foot before I discovered the clear foot, which is now my new favorite

On the underside of that one, there were markings that were quickly wearing off. br>br>All of the markings and guides are painted on the top side of this foot, preventing wear. The right side is 1/4" wide for easy piecing, while the left side is only 1/8" wide for small piecing guidance. To help grip the fabric, the foot widens behind the needle. I don't have to switch feet to do bar tack stitches to secure elastic because the space around the needle is just wide enough for a narrow zig zag stitch. br>br>This is by far my favorite sewing foot, and the only time I switch to my buttonhole foot is when I'm making a buttonhole!.
