use it to dye my shirt and can I wash my shirt afterward with it? What is the lasting power of the shirt dye and how long is it good for?

Tulip Liquid Fabric Dye would be required for this method since this product is not formulated for use in a washing machine. What can you do to prevent this yellow coloring from bleeding into the red dye? There is a major problem in my life right now. What suggestions do you have?

Voici some suggestions It is best to clean cotton items before use and soak them in soda ash solution for a minimum of 20 minutes (i.e. the soda ash that is purchased at a local pool supply store works better than soda ash that is found in a craft section). Pour about 1 cup of sugar into 1 gallon of water. While the shirt is still damp, dye it. In spite of these findings, the Red Refill Pack seemed to bleed out more than the Tulip dye previously purchased in a All the best to you.

How does this product compare to what you're used to? Most of the reviews seem to assert that the color is not a true red and that it bleeds yellow in some spots. Do you have a resolution to this issue?

I should have read reviews before I purchased and am kicking myself for not doing so. This morning (June 12, 2020), I dyed ten shirts, and they all had yellow in them.

Can you get all nine colors with this? Reviews are giving me mixed answers. ?

There is no truth in this statement. A black version is the only one available. The package was resent to me a second time with the correct colors, but I still

I don't think red tie dye is really tie The red tie dye on this shirt isn't red at all
3/5

In the powder packets, you will find yellow powder that turns red when you add the liquid. In order to submit an application to the T- The red dye on the shirt had a yellow outline. Once the shirt had been washed, the red dye faded to orange, but the yellow outline was still there. We didn't get the patriotic look we had hoped for. Red Tulip tie dye has been ordered and used in the past by us with no issues (as seen on the cotton face mask), and the powder packets were red,.

Is yellow and bleeds Red is NOT the color to choose
3/5

It is obvious from the packaging and the actual color of the powder that it There is an orange/yellow powder on the table. There are several different powder refills that I ordered from this brand, as well as one orange refill. In real life, the orange powder comes out in a more intense red tone. It looks like a problem with packaging powders. But I'm not quite sure what happened. The only downside is that if you are looking for a red powder refill I would recommend not buying this. I am so disappointed that it will not give you the results you desire.

Tie dyeing means mixing colors for a variety of lengths of time
4/5

We used a wide variety of colors to tie dye 18" by 18" cotton kitchen sack cloth hand towels for the Woodstock concert in middle of the summer. The results were not as intense as in professionally dyed products, but we are still happy with how they turned out for this Our first step was to rinse the sack cloths to remove sizing, followed by a wash, and then we used around two-thirds of a color pouch per color per sack cloth to ensure vibrant colors. Furthermore, we used about 10% less water than was specified in the instructions. Sack cloth that was tie dyed was placed in a ziplock baggie for over 24 hours before it was rinsed. Generally, all colors were applied at the same time per the design instructions, however a couple of designs required a two step application (one color was applied first, with 24 hours allowed for the second color to set before the third color It was those vivid memories that stood out. The product is good for those who are interested in "doing it themselves" tie dye projects. However, one word of caution stands out Wear gloves at all times!.

It is not good to be black
3/5

It came in dissolving packets (not all colors come in dissolving packets - they didn't come in all colors-) In my case, the flowers were in plastic packets that you had to cut open and pour into a bottle. Due to some reason, the packets do not dissolve completely in BLACK, causing the dye to be chunky and clot-like I had a hard time getting the dye to come out of the bottle. Sometimes it wouldn't come out at all and other times it would squirt everywhere. The worst part is, sometimes it would come out in huge clots and ruin The irritation is really getting to me. The yellow and black dissolvable packets came in the same condition, but for some reason I only had this problem.

I am very disappointed
3/5

I've bought several of these along with the blue refill set so I can make shirts for all my students with red, white, and blue tie dye. There was no separation of the dye, so tie dye came out in orange, green, yellow and purple there was no red or This dye disappointed me a lot. It is the brand I have always used with no problems. I have tie dyed more than a thousand times. Clearly something is terribly wrong with the dye in this set. I don't even think it deserves one star, so please select if you want me.

The refills are fantastic
5/5

You're the best! If you already own the small Tulip squirt bottles for some colors and you just need to replace the contents, these refills are a perfect solution. My favorite part of the tie is the collar Black refills worked perfectly and gave a dye effect. There is a method of dyeing cloth with crumples called tie dye. Picture depicts the color more on the blue side, but in person it is much darker to the black side.

It has a nice vibrant yellow color to it
5/5

Efforts to hold up in wash. It worked just the way I expected it to. The color of the shirt that I dyed with this yellow dye and an orange dye I also purchased from Tulip was nice and bold. Since I bought the shirt almost a year ago, I've washed and worn it a dozen times, and the color is still In my case, I used soda ash as a preservative The fabric is soaked, which helps it set the color. As it turns out, this was much easier to use than I expected. It took me a while to read the instructions the first time I tried using it, so I opened the packet and dumped Using a bottle, add water to the packet and then add the packet to the bottle. As soon as the packet is dissolved Please be sure the dye is completely dissolved before using it, as it might spray on the fabric you are trying to dye, and if you run it through the dryer it will leave a gritty plasticky feeling on the fabric. It is also very easy to apply the dye. Since the dye can be applied with cold water, there is no need to boil the dye and soak your fabrics in it. If you choose to use plastic wrap or a bag to protect your project after dying, please make sure that you let it sit wet for several hours after the dye has been applied.

It lasts a long time
5/5

My intent was to use this for shibori patterned pillow cases and used all three dye packets in 8 ounces of water in order to get deeper, more saturated colors. I think it turned out really well. It has been several months since they have been through the wash once a week and the color is still bright and vibrant! Almost everything went well, except for the little "dissolveable" packets which do not dissolve very well and if you get undissolved parts on your item they make dark We recommend putting a pair of dry latex gloves on, opening the packets over newspaper, shaking the dye powder into your dry dye bottle, then throwing the empty packet and newspaper away. As long as everything is dry before you begin the process, it will not be Using damp gloves or a wet bottle will make the packet sticky and make it difficult to open (and messy!) In order to get the dye powder out of the packet and into the dye bottle, open the dye packet.
