Questions & Answers
Synthropol or Retayne is usually used when wet washing our fabrics prior to cutting them out for our projects to help set their color, preventing the colors from bleeding over to other fabrics. In my case, I now use a color catcher sheet and gentle detergent, and I use vinegar for rinsing. After all the parts have been, lightly dry or let them dry on their own.
If any excess dye remains on the cloth after it has been dyed, it is recommended that you wash the cloth in hot water at 140F to remove it. The retinol in Retayne is used to reduce bleed rate on commercial fabrics, especially reds, that bleed easily. In that way, the fabric will not bleed when cared for since the color will be locked in. Fabric that has been treated should only be washed in cold water.
As long as you apply Retayne to the jeans while the temperature is 140 °F, then you can use it on jeans. As a result, whenever the jeans are washed, they should only be washed in cool water. Although you have received Retayne treatment, it might still be a good idea to wash your white sneakers separately.
You won't have to worry about Retayne setting it up. It is my understanding that Synthropol is the only product that will take the bleeding out, and it cannot be guaranteed to do so. It will be difficult to remove the run if it has been dried. With Retayne you can wash the quilt and stop the bleeding as soon as possible. When you are a quilter, it really helps to prewash your batiks since they will stop bleeding in the future.

In spite of the fabric being mostly prewashed, I didn't want to take any chances with the all the white on this quilt. I am very pleased with the results. Quite pleased with the result. Up next is a blue batik bargello that I am completing. In case there are any changes to the product, I will be sure to let you know.
In the past, I used to use color catchers, but noticed that my colors weren't always as bright as I'd hoped and that I sometimes had to use more colors like red, blue, and green. As soon as I started using Retayne for all cotton quilting fabric that comes through my front door, I noticed that the color brightness was increased so much. It works great on brights soaked in hot water, and the color does not bleed from the start. It's.
A lot of the clothes I dye tend to bleed and fade after each wash with an all purpose dye. Retayne caught my attention after reading about it online and I decided to experiment with it. As a first try, I submerged the over-dyed cloth in a sink full of water without rinsing it Black garment would be directly dipped into the mixture of retain and HOT water and stirred until it became stain-free. Within a few moments, the water took on a thick black color, but after a few minutes, it appeared to transform back into a translucent color. In some ways, it was as though the retayne pulled the dye back into the fabric and sealed As a result of rinsing in cold water afterwards, the water became clear within a decade I would like twenty It usually rinses out the dye with water and then I have to wash the clothes to get rid of any remaining dye that is clinging to them. It was a little stiff after the first wash, but I washed it again in cold water and it was not as stiff as usual. There is some truth to this stuff. In fact, I've tried dyeing a light colored fabric with a black dye in the same retayne mixture and the darker color didn't bleed onto the lighter one This isn't something I would recommend doing immediately. First of all, the colors are much more vivid and seem to stick to the fabric a lot better. While fading still occurs a bit over time and I recommend washing the items in cold water with like colors, I have significantly improved the vibrancy and washfastness of all my dyed pieces since using retayne.
The fabric I prewash for my small sewing business is hundreds of yards long. It is often my task to sew red onto white and I need to be sure the red does not bleed when my customer washes their finished product for the first time. I am confident this product will not let me down. Here's how I make my high efficiency front loader work with the bag I was too far away to soak it as directed (in a bucket), but here's my method To begin, I pour 1 teaspoon/yard (I use the cap approximate for this) into the machine at a rate of The main compartment is half full, the prewash is half full. My hot/cold selection is selected and I choose auto soak, so it runs as an automatic cycle. As soon as I run it through the first cycle, I add a sheet of shout dye catcher to the machine, a few drops of regular detergent, and run it for a quick cycle of 20 minutes There has only ever been 1 instance of leaking dye onto the shout sheet from a red fabric. This one had synthrapol (all was well). There are only two downsides to this product it takes an excessive amount of time to run the wash, and it requires a great deal of product. A home sewer or quilter would be able to use this size bottle quite a bit longer than I do.
It was delivered in good condition in a timely manner. I love this product as a prewash and color setting agent. My favorite use of red and white is to use a little bit in a quilt. Never had a problem, and it makes a huge difference.
It's a complete waste of time and money. As each load is washed, more and more color fades away. According to the instructions from the manufacturer, I treated the wounds. Basically, water repellents prevent a fabric or material from absorbing water, so they act more as water repellents than they do to prevent fabrics from fading. There was a blue hue all around thanks to its blue towels and washcloths. After following the directions completely and trying it a second time, I still couldn't get the fabric to stay bright.
With my new dark-wash stretch denim capris, I bought this product. All in all, it was alright. I had put 9 color catchers in my washer when the washing cycle was finished, and I had also put some blue color catchers in the washer (I followed the directions on the label. Using the HI setting) The worst part is that the coloring was all To check if that would help (without the Retayne), I rewashed them once more in cold water. Although there were fewer blue spots on the hands, the washer was still A second time. My leggings have been dried for about 15 minutes after I cleaned the washer. Drying was then completed by hanging them up. Immediately dry the bottle if it says to do so (the bottle does state this). The information provided here proved to be a great Capris are much more comfortable than shorts. Only a tiny bit of dye transferred. Despite the fact that the washer turned blue and there was a lot of color leaking from the capris, I gave it 3 stars. appears to work okay (it is also for cottons, so I have to give it a little credit since the capris are only 97% cotton and I would definitely try it This was not perfect, however, I think that it was helpful.
Any time I buy a new pair of jeans or dark pants, I use this product. Using it on cotton blends as well as 100% cotton was a great experience. I love it - it works so well The school pants my kids wore last year look good and have not faded at all after a year of wear. It is washed. As well as quilting, I have used this product with great This is a highly recommended title!.
