Grey is more of a color for them. Additionally, they are not as "tough" as I hoped they would be. To watercolor greeting cards, I wanted to use them. Although I can use them, the result just does not seem as classy as I.
There is no easy way to rate this watercolor paper. Previously, my kids were using standard printer paper for watercolors. I bought this product to give them a step up. Since it is thicker than plain printer paper, it is a good step up from that. Overall, however, this is not a good watercolor paper. It is a strangely cool grayish paper, and the tone is not a pleasant one. You will be held back if you are an adult trying to improve your skills. Then this may do for you if you just prefer to move watercolor paint around to see the pigments move around, as long as you don't want holes in your paper.
The brushes and paints we have are all quite nice. It was due to size that I bought them. I wouldn't purchase them There is a poor quality to the paper. These binders have poor absorbency, the colors blend together easily, the paper cannot hold a lot of water, and the pages don't easily rip out. For art projects, I would not purchase these again. I would use them for messing around, but I would not purchase them.
For those who do a lot of watercolor work, this is the paper of choice. There is no buckling when it takes water. There is a good surface on it, but it isn't exactly white. It is I don't think it's heavy enough. It feels weird. As for embossing, I would avoid it for that. It scorches easily as well.
It's good that the price is such a bargain, but this paper is best for children who are just playing around. There are some issues with this paper's removal from the pad it curls and warps horribly, it tends to collect water on top of it, and it tends to tear. As a watercolor paper, it's awful. It might be good for drawing or painting with oil pastels.
Using it for this purpose, I found the quality to be excellent. You can carry it anywhere due to the size. At the moment, I use it to capture the beauty of the flowers and birds that I see out my window. For sketching and watercolor, this is a great paper! Have fun with your drawings!.
We have gotten them a few times and love the quality and the size.
We use them with our Ohuhu watercolor brush pens and absolutely love It is a good idea to thoroughly wet the surface with an adequate brush and let it dry for a minute or two before you begin.
