Questions & Answers
My preference is for the off white, as the pure white is very white!
I use a kitchen knife and insert it into the small opening in the middle. Work your way around the block slowly and carefully. After that, a sheet will be removed from you.
The pad by itself is rated at 2. I believe it would weigh no more than 2 pounds if you include the packaging. 8 pounds, with a chance of 3 pounds at the most.

These watercolor blacks have been in my collection for a long time. There was a time when taking a sheet off the block could be difficult, and you had to be careful not to rip it and ruin your painting, but for the most part, they are fantastic. However, I've had issues with blocks I've purchased in the last two or three years, which is extremely frustrating. The sheets are starting to fall off the chopping block. The black rubber around the edges is too thin and weak to keep them in place. On the larger blocks I've purchased, almost the entire block of papers will come loose from the bottom board, or it will come apart in the middle, and on smaller blocks, just the top layer will begin to come apart, causing the painting I'm working on to not dry flat, defeating the purpose of using the block. I like aquarelle arches paper, but I wish their blocks were of higher quality.
Something has changed with Arches watercolor blocks; I've used them for over 37 years, and in the last year or so, I've had issues with buckling and separation from the main block, but I haven't found anything that can withstand the abuse of scrubbing or lifting if necessary.
This piece of writing appeals to me greatly. It has enough texture that my brush strokes end up with sparkly white areas. After I remove the masking fluid, it holds up well, which was a major issue with cheaper papers. At the same time, I'm working on two different blocks: I use tape to further seal the edges, then use the kitchen faucet to rinse the top sheet of a block before propping it up to dry.
This paper is perfect for watercolor painting. For me, the most important benefit is that I can easily remove color when I need or want to. It's pricey, and I wish it were less so, but it's one of the best papers I've come across.
(Tidy up your tools@) I wanted to show how to separate a page from a block with an image. Instead, I'll advise you to make sure you're using a clean knife that's free of any previous painting's watercolor residue. br>br>This paper is so good that it's giving me a painter's version of writer's block.
My preferred mode of transportation is ink on watercolor paper This weight can withstand even the wettest of washes. Arches comes highly recommended.
I paint animal portraits with watercolors, and this paper is the best I've found so far. Although it is pricey, the quality and roughness are ideal.
