Questions & Answers

Which one is better than the regular toned tan paper offered by strathmore? When you look at it, what does it look ?

It is great to hear from you! Thank you for your letter! (Sketch & ink media) will have a medium tooth size. Additionally, as it is a sturdy paper that can handle wet media applications, the Mixed Media is going to be more popular than the Sketch. I'd like to thank you again. Thanks again, The

Can you tell me what the pH of this paper is? Do you have a neutral network or a buffered network?

Papers in this series are 100% recycled with 30% post consumer waste, and they are acid free as well. When it comes to paper, use only papers made of 100% cotton like those in Strathmore's 500 series.

Would you please confirm the size is 6'x8' or 9'x12'?

This paper arrived at 9x12 even though it appeared at 6x8 on the site. The hands on the front cover of this paper indicate a 9x12 size

In your description and picture, you mention 9x12, but in your selection option, it claims '6x8' (and you list only bulk pack options). Does it have a specific size?

This item was purchased as a 9"x12" and I received it as such.

Finished with a soft (vellum) touch
3/5

Please be aware that the finish on this is vellum (smooth). The article is not misleading since it explicitly states so, but I did not read the whole thing. As far as we can tell, the paper has no teeth. little picture on the cover seems to be made on a toothy surface, but that is not actually the case. Therefore, I don't think it's appropriate for charcoal or pastel. Neither I nor you will be using it for watercolors, although perhaps if you do not mind the smooth finish, you might. The paper is heavy, and I like the tone of the paper. In the future, I will use it to color pencil. Hopefully I will be able to do it with pen and ink. Although it isn't exactly what I expected, it is not a waste of time. My failure to read carefully made me make a mistake.

I can count on this stuff! Wow, what a waste of time
5/5

This paper is tough enough to hold up to reworking with watercolors! I work with it on a daily basis! My painting is amazing and I keep thinking I'm going to ruin it because of the fray and the paper will tear and get yucky but it doesn't! As long as the project is completed, it remains beautiful. Recommend it a hundred percent.

It is not accurate to describe this product
3/5

It is actually really nice paper- quality is excellent- however, the picture shows the paper looking different from the actual product. The image makes it look like a bright, warm toned tan, but it in fact is a light beige in tone- Even if it is not the color it was advertised to be, the paper is still very beautiful - but the seller is a jerk - good product, bad seller.

The graphite artwork is perfect for this product! In contrast with Strathmore's 400 Series toned gray and tan "Sketch" series papers (80 lbs
5/5

184 lb, recycled, and with visible fibers on the surface) seems to be the exact same colors and surface quality as the previous product. The scale weighs. Taking a look at the top surface of the heavyweight sketch paper and the medium weight sketch paper, I note that the "Vellum" surface of the heavyweight paper is a bit 'harder' than the "Medium" surface of the lighter weight Thus, the latter can be considered more 'matt' in finish and to me will be able to show in your home longer With quick strokes and side-by-side comparison, we were able to achieve slightly darker darks. There are no differences in the looks of the papers, and good results can be obtained on either graphite. - attached is a photo of a small graphite drawing done on gray mixed media heavyweight.

This would be great for watercolor and colored pencils
5/5

The watercolors and cheap colored pencils I use for this purpose are great for play time. The pigmented paper will only react to intense values. Paint using these values to make the pigment show through. As opposed to painting on white paper, I find it fun to paint on black Using a sheet of paper without bleeding is ideal for painting on both sides. The only thing I would like is for the paper to have a little more tooth/grit, but otherwise I think it's fine In sum, I am having a ton of fun and will get it again after I'm through with it.

Definitely worth the time and effort
5/5

The ink felt a little overpriced to me at first, but after putting it on the paper I had a change of heart. Very good for watercolors or any other works with ink or watercolors. Great if you want to use light skin tones or just for other purposes.

In my opinion, it would be more suited to markers
3/5

Rather than having quite enough tooth to enable pastels, colored pencils, or even graphite to adhere well, I found it much smoother than I expected. If I am going to use it, I will use markers or maybe.

It is possible that you received a I forgot to add a While it states that this pad contains 15 sheets of paper, when I receive the item the first couple of pages look suspicious, and aren't aligned properly
3/5

That's when I began counting the pages in my pad, and I found that there were only 14 pages. Is it a used one I received from Amazon? The possibility exists. The corner of one page has a small crease. I am very unsatisfied with this experience.
