Questions & Answers

What is the ability of the book's pages to lay flat so that an image may be drawn across them?

The book has a trough, like most bound books, so it is not, exactly.

Does this book allow the use of water color paints?

Are you able to. The answer is yes. Is it worth it? The answer is no. Then I guess it would work if you put something between the page you are working on and the rest of the pages until it dries. There is too much paper on the page. A second problem is the grain of the paper is so smooth that the pigment would not stick well to it.

Do you have any experience with alcohol-based markers such as Ohuhu's?

The answer is yes. It is possible, however, that some of the marker will bleed down to the page below.

Do you know how many pages there are?

Hello Anna - there are 108 pages in this sketchbook. Please feel free to shop around with us. Thanks for your interest!

It's a surprise to see the quality of Canson's products
5/5

I never expected to get so much out of this sketchbook. Canson products had not been on my radar for some time after I tried their watercolor paper and found it to be of poor Two of these were given as gifts to me a couple of years ago, and now I've filled three of them You'll be covered. A significant difference appears to be made by the quality control of different production lines. Before I used ring-tones I had been using a small hole-size ring-tone The flexibility of bound sketchbooks and the easy removal of pages make them ideal. While the hardbound book lacks these perks, it more than makes up for it in one important It is based on graphite. It specifically refers to the lack of one. You shut off a ring when you don't use it If you carry a loosely bound sketchbook in a bag or even hold it in your hand, the shifting of the paper will rub your pencil marks across the adjacent pages. Creating a solid construction means you won't have that problem with this book. Drawings can be really ruined over time. For me, the most important things in a sketchbook are their erasability and a decent weight of Sketch paper like this is excellent for the first time you can erase a dozen times with a good polymer eraser and the paper will always come clean without a trace of wear unless you've grooved it. A needle and Even if you wash the paper properly, the paper will buckle quickly, but then again, it wasn't intended for washing. In terms of design and usability, this sketchbook has a solid construction and is very easy to use Paper that is environmentally friendly. Obviously, it's not the best option if you need something to fold sheets over quickly, but for what it's worth, it gets the job done. This sketchbook is hard bound - Choosing this book was a great decision.

There are no doubts that I would recommend Canson Art Sketch Book Hardcover
5/5

A paper that contains no acids. Unless I'm working on a larger drawing, I take a pencil sketch in my Canson Sketch Book. When paired with the Palomino Blackwing 602 Pencil, I have been most satisfied. A binding problem is not present. Protecting and making archiving attractive and easy is what hard covers do. It is a product that I strongly recommend.

The paper was quite thin, but the binding was okay Alcohol markers are not compatible with this product! Here is an example of a drawing drawn with pencil and then with Copic markers (these are alcohol based The marker has completely bled through to the other side of the In addition to bleeding when using markers on this paper, the ink will also bleed a little from the line you make, giving you fuzzy, blurry lines rather than fine ones
3/5

It is okay to use pigment liners such as Pigma Micron pens, Staedtler liners, Copic's multiliner, and Rotring Rapidographs/Isographs that are on paper. Nevertheless, the paper is so thin that you will definitely be able to see the lines on the back of the page as well as through a page that's on top of an inked page. This sketchbook has one thing I like, which is that the binding is great, and allows the pages to lay flat as they open. If it were any thicker paper, I wouldn't recommend it, but the thin paper makes it unusable As a result, it cannot be used with alcohol markers, such as Using this sketchbook for simple pencil sketches should be fine if you're not planning on inking at all. Select another option if you will be doing that at all.

For daily use, it is smooth and sturdy
5/5

It was the cheapest of several sketchbooks I tried and I found it to be most useful These books get a lot of wear and tear, but the spine holds up beautifully and the pages are smooth and sturdy - This sharpener works well with fine tip sharpies and soaks up very little ink- There is never a rip through the page. Comparing cheaper notebooks with more expensive ones is difficult.

From grammar school, this has been my favorite
5/5

I personally prefer this sketchbook for sketches because it is very simple, but what's important is what's inside, and their design has remained the same for years. Since it is consistent, it is a winner in my book. In order to make sure the paper is not see-through, it is smooth, but not that thick, sort of like high-quality printer paper, thin but not too thin, smooth, and not too thin. I prefer the canson XL mix media paper pad (it has fewer pages but far better paper) as my favorite sketchbook.

You can color in the pictures! Having used them for over a decade, these Canson sketch books are a great investment
5/5

This is my favorite group of people. In my own experience, I don't sketch in them, but I use them as my daily work journals instead. My favorite aspects of these journals are that they do not have lines and their quality of paper and that they are made in the U. S. They stand up to some very nasty abuse too.

The perfect notebook for all your writing and drawing The Canson sketchbook was the first item I bought to organize my notes during my first year of teaching in 2001
5/5

Several other notebooks (including this one) are still in my possession. is reliable and has endured a number of moves, many stints in storage and hundreds and hundreds of hours of use. It is definitely worth the price. I bought my first one on clearance at Barnes and Nobel for just $5 and my most recent (May 2020) on Amazon for just a few bucks The next time this one is full I'll come back for more.

It is required to take the Art class
5/5

Even though this was required for art class, this is something we will continue to use. The thick pages work well for all kinds of art, because the ink does not bleed through.
