This is the product for you if you want to try your hand at using pastels and pencils. Although the 800 series is superior, this is an excellent place to start. However, there are more superior brands. This is a good place to begin for the price. The pan pastels as well as the tools that come with the sets must be purchased separately. WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT! The only disadvantage I can think of is the small size of the package. You'd like to work on a bigger project. a difficulty In general, the larger pieces cost more. This is ideal for small pieces or if you'd like to experiment with this fascinating medium. Using the necessary tools, there is a very short learning curve. You are going to have a blast!.
I ordered this black sanded paper by accident, but I already know how much fun it is to paint pastels on black, so I'm sure I'll use it a lot. On black, the colors really "pop. " Several layers of pastels are held in place by the 400 grit. One point to consider: You'll need to figure out a way to keep the paper and your finished work both flat. The long axis of the paper has a strong tendency to curl. But that isn't a major issue. This is a fantastic piece of paper at a great price.
I initially mistook this for a pad, but the sheets are separate, which is fine; I've used one so far with pan pastels and pastel pencils, and it's been fantastic. It's just right in terms of toothiness.
Despite the fact that it curls, Uart is my favorite pastel. If you're doing an evening or night scene, the black paper will help a lot. It also accepts multiple layers of pastel to give your painting depth!.
This paper appeals to me. I'd never used dark paper before, but it really brings out the colors. Art is my preferred pastel paper. The price is reasonable, and I was able to save money by cutting it in half (for a 6x9 painting). I will definitely buy from you again.
I've been using UART paper for pastel painting for about 5 years now. 6 years. The 500 grit is what I use. This paper appeared to be lacking in grit, and the grit was irregular, resulting in lines across the page rather than a consistent grit all over when painting. I've painted several paintings with a variety of pastel brands, and the paper has remained uneven. br>br>I'm disappointed because I purchased a ten pack of this paper in a larger size (18 x 24) to use for larger paintings.
Although the paper appears to be in good condition, after counting it six times, I discovered that I had only received nine sheets rather than the ten I had paid for. What are your plans for dealing with this situation?.
After waiting a few weeks for the ten pack to arrive, I only received one sheet, which was bent. I also ordered the 600 grade, but only one of the sheets was recognized.
