No, not at all. It has a deep texture that works well with pastels, pencils, and other mediums, but it's made in a different way than, say, UART paper. I like it

This product caught my eye on Amazon, and I was ecstatic to find it. Unfortunately, I did not pay attention to the description and was surprised to receive a pastelmat 9 tablet. The size of the piece is 5 inches by 12 inches. Because the product description is in CENTIMETERS, I foolishly expected a much larger piece of paper. Shipping was also extremely slow. It's far too small to be useful for anything, but since I ordered it myself, I'll keep it; however, please don't make the same mistake I did.
The end result is outstanding. This is the only paper I'll ever buy. The only issue I had was that it came in a padded envelope, which caused the corner of the pad to be damaged and the entire pad to be slightly curled. I'm still able to use them, but it's inconvenient. I'm not interested in waiting for a new one, so I'm keeping this one.
Very let down. The pad I received was not of the same high quality as the ones I've previously received from Amazon. The majority of the sheets have been scratched or marred in some way. I couldn't wait for a replacement sheet because I needed one right away. From now on, I'll place my orders at an art supply store.
I received my order in a timely manner. I've used this paper for pastel work in the past, and it's fantastic. It's smooth to the touch and can hold a lot of layers. Will purchase in the future.
This paper is delectable, pricey, and a delight to work with. It takes a lot of layers to get the creaminess of my old pastels to show through.
Layering color and deep color on this paper is a breeze. It's extremely difficult to come across.
For anything pastel, this is my "go to" paper. It's sometimes hard to come by, but I usually manage to find it here.
For pastels, I really like this paper. These people were quick to send it out.
