Questions & Answers
Regardless of the image posted, this is "SMOOTH" newsprint.
It has a slick finish. This is not a product I would recommend.
I purchased one that had not been written on and had no missing pages when I purchased it used.
It has some texture. Unlike typing paper, it is not smooth.

It's every bit as thrilling as the title suggests. Newsprint is the type of paper used. You doodle on it, then toss it away. Yes, it's as thrilling as it sounds. br>5 stars for the fact that it is - a piece of newsprint br>I'm going to have to take a deep breath and relax.
This isn't meant to be a scathing assessment of Strathmore. They produce excellent paper, and I particularly enjoy their smooth newsprint. However, Amazon does not properly store them, and many of them have been damaged by light, moisture, bending, wrinkling, or crushing.
This was purchased for my art class, and I paid for expedited shipping because I needed it by Tuesday. It arrived shattered, with one corner bent and the front cover and several pages ripped. I'm not happy at all.
These are ideal for drawing charcoal figures and portraits. The true value is in the "smooth" texture. It aids in the application of soft edges, which appear grainy and unappealing on medium or rough surfaces. Be careful not to tear the paper away from the pad if you fold the pages over too quickly.
I needed this for school, so I was overjoyed when it arrived ahead of schedule. When it did arrive, however, the yellow cover corners were torn and filthy. Furthermore, the spine was not fully secured. It had to be glued back to the cardboard, but the newsprint papers inside were not damaged as badly. Only the very ends have been scuffed. Despite its poor condition, I will not return it because I need it and there is no time to replace it. I'm relieved to find out that the inside papers are still usable.
This paper has been exposed to moisture or has been stored in an inefficient manner. The paper is wrinkled and the binding end has buckled.
This is what I bought for my life drawing class, and it's great. It's quite tall, and the pages are quite thin, so it's quite thin in terms of thickness. The pages, on the other hand, rip easily, especially if you only want to remove one or two pages. Overall, it's a good value and serves its purpose well.
This item was well-packaged and arrived on time, which is important because these pads are prone to crease. Everything was exactly as described. Thanks!.
