Selected User Reviews For Strathmore 300 Series Newsprint Pad, Rough, 18"x24" Tape Bound, 100 Sheets
I ordered a drawing pad that looked great and would have been perfect for what I needed, however, the drawing pad came in a box that was far too small and had been folded in half, when it arrived! Consequently, the drawing pad is no longer functional since there are two problems 1) the back is broken from being bent, and 2) all the paper is wrinkled. There is no way I can fix this.
It was necessary to buy this for my drawing class, and we used it to speed draw and for long periods of time in class. About halfway through the second week, the glue holding the pages together flaked off and I had to use a giant rubber band to keep the pages from spilling out.
That is really great. It's exactly what I had in mind to print the family newspaper! I was very satisfied with the quality. From reading other reviews, I thought the paper was thin, but it was thicker than I expected. It's thicker than computer paper if you look at the weight. Colors are vibrant and clear, and the images are clear and vibrant too. Having studied at a college of art and using it herself, my sister was very impressed by its quality (she knows a lot about art). One problem is that I have ripped a number of times if I didn't take my time in tearing it.
The bottom two digits of the top 2-digit number should be used for any warped or buckled (dry) watercolor or mixed media piece. You can iron three pages on high heat, slowly and steadily until the artwork has been As more pages are used, the top of the pages eventually starts to brown to the point where you tear it off and reattach next I have been using this for years.
Drawing teachers tell us it is easier to spot mistakes when we draw larger images, as opposed to smaller ones. That's why I bought this size pad. In my experience, I have found that to be the case. Thus, I purchased this drawing pad (18" X 24") as a supplement to my smaller drawing pads. As a short person, I find it a bit awkward to carry to class, although I do feel like I have a lot of space. That must be the price of doing business I'm off now.
It is open to all artists, no matter their age! Working on these 14 x 17 inch sheets with our grandchildren is always a joy. I can use these sheets to learn traditional Asian ink techniques or try out different color palettes with poster paint to have fun with my daughter for hours. I can also use them for more serious art practices such as learning traditional Asian ink techniques. Despite its small size, I enjoy the newsprint pad I bought and will buy several more to use.
The first problem with this is the price. $50 for about $6 is not a great Considering Canson offers 100 pages for $5 and it has a thicker paper and better texture, it is unlikely that other companies will be able to offer There are irregularities in the texture, and if you try to rip the page off it doesn't come out In every pad, there is always some paper left over.
Although the reviews on this product were not great, the price was great and I plan to use this paper for mixed media art projects, so if it is too thin or folded, that is not a problem for me. Even so, I would be fine with that. This is not a thin piece of paper, and it is not folded either! Getting to explore a new place is such a thrill!.
