It has a thickness of 1/16 inch.

Has anyone tried Zentangle with these cards and a technical pen?

I've only used it for pencils and pens. Sorry.

Could these boards be used for encaustic painting after being coated with encaustic gesso?

I'm not sure, but I believe it to be true. They're made of high-quality chipboard.

What are the dimensions of these chipboard pieces in terms of their actual sizes? They are supposed to be two. 5" by 3. inches but the description suggests 2"?

It's perfect for making small art projects

These were purchased so that I could experiment with various drawing techniques. Markers, pencils, and pastels were used to complete the project. It's still in good condition. I also experimented with decoupage on a smaller scale. It was ideal for small art projects with children. Glue, glitter, felt, and buttons were all used.

The cut is a little uneven, but it's very sturdy

For ATCs, this is a very sturdy and high-quality product. My only gripe is that they're a little unevenly cut. Only when applying paper cut to ATC measurements did it become apparent.

These are by far my favorite artists trading cards to paint, die, and glue all over because they can withstand a lot of abuse and still keep ticking. They're also great for dry embossing, which I do a lot of.
