Oil that is ultra refined, low density, and less likely to dry out in In the years since I acquired this oil, I have stopped cleaning my sable hair brushes with mineral spirits. After I wipe off the paint with cotton rags from the brushes, I dip the hair in safflower oil and place them on a horizontal brush stand. I do this for at least two weeks and the brushes will not dry out. Just wipe off the oil with a rag when you are ready to paint and your brushes will be ready. Use only the oil sold at the store for brushes and do not use the oil you buy at the store. Getting it wet in the first place will only make it dry out faster and leave oily particles on brushes.

Safflower oil is easier to come by here than linseed oil at a reasonable price, so I opted to use it. As I am trying to gradually shift away from using odorless turp/mineral spirits, I'm trying to reduce my use. It happens sometimes that my body acts up for no apparent reason and I experience headaches, pressure in my chest, fatigue, and nausea, even when ventilated. My house has no heater, so it is just me trying to stay warm in a 55 degree house as I can't open my windows in the winter. Also, there is no heat in my house, so I can't open any windows in the winter. Since I don't want to end up in the hospital, I bought this on a whim. So far, it is working very well for me. Recently, I ordered two tubes of Isaro oil paint and discovered that the burnt umber had leaked and the oil outside the tube had turned to gel. * This cleans my brushes better than baby oil, which is NOT a drying oil, so do not paint your canvas right after cleaning your brushes with baby oil. I added just a brush tip amount of oil to the paint to bring it to life. You will never have to worry about your work drying up. Before continuing with your painting, make sure you rinse out the baby oil thoroughly with turp or OMS if you must use it on a budget. You may also rinse the cloth with another jar of your choice of solvent for additional precautions. *Click here to view the example. *Click here to view the example. * My only gripe is that merchants shipping this on their own, and Amazon, should be more Upon receiving my package, I found it to be a standard white padded pack with a pattern of blue logos by UPS, who are well known for hurdling their shipments around and losing them along the way. Nothing other than the oil bottle itself was used to package it. Although I'm surprised that it didn't leak as it traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast, it seems extremely unlikely that it could have.

It's what I use to clean my brushes during the oil painting process. The studio works with solvent free solutions. There is a very small amount of it needed and it does an excellent job.

This product works well with Grumbacher oil paints and Winton oil paints. Cleaning brushes and thinning oil paint are two great uses for this product.

I use it to clean.

My brushes will be softened if I use this.

My brushes are moistened by it and a preliminary clean before I use soap is accomplished.

If I had known what a difference this oil made in viscosity and lightness, I would have used it more often.
