Questions & Answers

In what way do the blocks get refilled?

I read (on Winsor Newton's information page) that half pans of Winsor Newton watercolor can't be refilled with watercolor tube paints, as the formula is different and the finished product won't work as well. In any case, Daniel Smith and Holbein watercolors can also be used to refill, as well as most other brands. It is also good to use Graham, although they do take a long time to dry out in a pan because they contain honey.

Can you guarantee the quality of the artwork, I don't want to deal with ?

I'm talking about the Cotman line from Winsor &amp Newton A full range of 40 paint colors is available in the Newton line for students. The professional line of Winsor & Newton is called Winsor & Newton Watercolour sets designed for Newton Professionals cost much more than sets designed for Cotman. In such a case, Winsor &amp Newton were used In comparison, the Newton Cotman boxed set of twelve colours costs around $50, whereas the Winsor & Newton boxed set costs about $200 It will cost around $100 or more to purchase Newton Professional Artists' 12 colors field kit. My experience as an artist and a creative professional has been for nearly twenty years, and I've been using Winsor & Newton paints for most of those years For even longer, we have manufactured Newton products (as well as multiple other brands). It is very difficult to tell the difference between the Cotman watercolour line and the other student grade lines Many professional artists use Cotman (I've seen portraitists and botanical artists who choose it specifically because of the way it works for them) while others prefer the dense pigmentation of the Professional line. It depends on your preference and the type of work you do. My opinion is that this Cotman set would make a welcome addition to any artist's materials shelf. A tip for If you want your pan colours to be brightest and most vibrant, spritz them with a little water (or put a bit of water on the pan color/s you want to use), and let them sit for a few moments. When you moisten it, the colour will have a vibrancy that can rival some professional paints after it has dried.

What is the duration of the event?

I've had my palette for three years and it's held up great. I have the 48 half pan set. It's possible to replace the colors in a palette by purchasing cartridges, instead of buying a whole new one. It's great! I really like this palette. For the first time in my life, I can refill my palette now! Colors in this palette are beautiful and I also love them when combined with tubes. anyways, to answer your question, yes, they are going to last you for a long time! I have half pans that last me forever, and I paint every single They are full pans as well, so you'll get a lot of use out of them! These are fantastic! I highly recommend them!

Does the travel case have a tight seal and does it not leak while traveling?

Despite traveling all over the world with it, and packing it in a Ziploc baggie, I have never experienced leaking into the bag. Even when the colors are moist, it does not leak.

You did a great job with the This is a great set of As a result, I wanted to upgrade my watercolor supplies (in the past, I used crayola and then artist loft Beginners will enjoy both of these resources, as they are very inexpensive

It is not an ideal solution, since I am limited in the number of pigments I can use This is what I wanted - transparency). We read many reviews and watched YouTube videos and, on the basis of these, chose Winsor & Newton. Almost all of Newton Cotman's sets are available on ebay. Thanks for sending these my way. This is so fun - I've been having a lot of fun painting now It's so much easier to mix colors and get the transparency I desire with it. Water mixes with colors really well and colors glide across the paper easily. In the future, I would like to invest in good watercolor papers (I'm still using cheap watercolor paper). In the picture, you can see a picture of my watercolor set (I've only had it a short time, but I've already extensively used it). The brush is a negative aspect of the set. A few of the bristles were bent (you can see this in the I have attempted to reshape it, but have not been successful. I have my own set of brushes (Royal &ampampampampampampamp I have been using Lannickel synthetic sable from Michaels). They are outstanding as far as the painting itself goes. A black tone as well as some skin tones would be nice. Nonetheless, I have learned I can mix all of them when needed (I have included a color chart In addition to the case, it is great. I like the fact that it is durable It should be possible to refill easily in the You can expect this set to last for.

These watercolors are a step up from student-grade My student grade reeves brand watercolors were worn out after a few decades
5/5

It hasn't been long since I started playing with them, but I'm excited about doing so. There is one picture with all the colors swatched out, which I intend to laminate and keep in my box for reference. In another picture you can see the box in comparison to a traditional gift card. As you can see, the box is slightly bigger than a standard gift card. You can really fit it in your pocket! There is nothing to be excited about the brush. . . it doesn't really matter. The round or liner is not much bigger than a quarter Put brush in the text box. This will probably not be used by me since it gives me hand cramps because the handle is so small. As a result of hearing several complaints, I would like to address them. To begin with, here is how the watercolor cakes look when they've been baked from their To reattach the paint cake, I simply took out the cake, drizzled a large drop of water on top, and stuck it back into the pan. few minutes the water makes the paint a bit gummy. To fix this, I gave it a firm press, and it hasn't been a problem since then. The paint pans do not stay put in the case, which is another complaint. The answer is yes, but I have another simple solution as well. Taking the plastic paint pans out of the box, I glued them together with a dab of hot glue before pressing them hard back into place. I was happy with the results. They won't come out even if I pry them out. Once they are gone, you can replace the empty pan by simply taking a pair of pliers and pulling out the empty liners. To reconnect my other set, I cut a piece of double sided tape in half lengthwise, and then I stuck the pans back into place. Hot glue does not suit me as well as this. Even though the tape holds well, the pans can easily be pulled out just by grabbing the brush end and prying the layer It works well with sticky tack, blue tack, and museum putty, These pans are sold open stock, which means that you can replace one color at a time, so I wouldn't recommend supergluing them into the palette if you don't plan to do that often.

There is a big difference between low-quality art materials and high-quality ones
5/5

In addition to the lockdown-born artisans, I am also a little bit pre-lockdown curious about art. I have learned the following things about painting over the last 9 months 1
In order to achieve the best results, your materials must be high quality. 3.
You might get frustrated with inferior products if you continue to use them. Three key points. You can learn how to paint from an amazing number of talented people on YouTube. 4
The art of being an artist can not be artificially innate. It is 100% a LEARNABLE skill! ** * 6. You can have a lot of fun painting with watercolors! Here are the things you need to keep in mind when it comes to quality 1
Paint that is of decent quality. With this Windsor and Newton Cotman paint, you're all set to get started. Depending on your budget, buy whatever sets fit your needs best. I got the 24 and it's more than enough for me. You can play with colors to discover how to combine them. 3.
A decent piece of It is easy to find Canson XL here, as well as at craft stores, and it is a great paper for everyone to practice on. When you have practiced for a while, you can use 100% cotton 140 lb watercolor paper to experiment on. Three key points. Similarly, good brushes are important, and you do not need as many as you would expect. Cotman's brush that comes with the set is decent but not excellent. As a way to pry up the plastic tray, I only use it. Make sure you buy a few $5 bills You can get a brush for $10. You need to learn about different types of brush hairs. Buying quality synthetic brushes at an affordable price is a great idea. In my opinion, Princeton Aqua Elite (synthetic kolinsky sable) is the best choice for detail painting, and Princeton Neptune (synthetic squirrel) shows dabs of paint more freely. You will only need a Round 6, a Round 2, and possibly a wash brush. You should never keep brushes in water, and always ensure they are well rinsed after using. I'd like to give a brief In my opinion, they are an excellent paint for beginners. Make yourself a color chart. Learn what happens when you mix intense phthalo blue with alizarin crimson hue (a gorgeous Does the color "Viridian Hue" appear too bright green to you? Burnt Umber can be added to make it more subtle. I think it will probably be a little overwhelming to carry more than 24 colors in the same size. A lot of the fun is in learning to mix colors and getting the exact shade of algae you desire. When you first use the plastic palettes, you may be frustrated with how the paint sticks to them. If you want to make them go away, scuff them up with some magic eraser or In the pre- You can activate the paints by soaking them in water, and you can pick up the paint from the side of your brush and bring it to you Don't worry about anything else! Have fun!.

Bright and vibrant paint with a nice color palette! It is better than the set of 24 half pans
5/5

Five duplicate pans of five of the most popular colors are included in the package, so you get all 40 colors available in the line. The paints are next to their wrappers in the photograph I took. It's hard to know which paint box to put the paints in when the paint box gets bumped, and the paints fall out of their pans. It's important to know this because the box contains the name and number of the color, so that you can reorder when the paint runs out. During the process of painting the "Fourth of July" painting included with this review, I used only a very small amount of paint. Paint goes a long way on this paper, which measures 18" by 12".
