A new set of HIMI Gouache paints arrived As I eagerly anticipated trying them, they were a big hit! Initially, I was not a fan of opening it, but after a few times I got my long used pliers and zipped through the rest!
I was amazed by In each one, you can see what a rich pigment looks like! The colors are so beautiful! Pink was the color of the package I got. It is okay in my opinion. There's so much weight to it! What a shock! I was shocked at the amount of Nevertheless, that has no effect on the paint, so we shall leave it at that. It comes with only 3 brushes, and that is a big disappointing! I didn't get it for the brushes, though. The following observation is relevant. Having tried them, I can attest that they work! Yes, of course! My favorite things about the design are the colors, the textures, and how easy they are to use. Even if the color vibrancy is weakened by water, the result will take a while! They wouldn't be a problem for me to buy.

In my opinion, the gouache is really good and full of pigment at this price point. The cups hold more than a tube and the color combinations are sophisticated. It doesn't feel as fluid as more expensive brands, but it is pretty and holds a lot. In addition to the case, I am fond of the brushes it came with (though these brushes can't be kept The following are the major cons It's a nice case in theory, but I was expecting it to be more of a travel paint kit for me, but I can't do that with this It is very difficult to keep the palette firmly in the lid of the case, but the lid of the case does stay in place like other models, so every time I open the case, I must clean the lid and the palette before I can paint. Additionally, tipped cases from this type can damage the cups, causing them to fall out of their slots and stay on the lid/palette, thereby causing paint to spill out. The fact that replacement cups are not available makes this an unnecessary waste.

This has been so much fun! Colors play well with each other, are bright, and mix together This paint has a smooth, creamy texture, because unlike most tube gouache, it is very opaque. I really do appreciate this paint's formulation, which allows it to stay wet a little longer than gouache normally does, giving me a few extra minutes to play with it. The same is true when working on wet paper, as well. As part of my process, I liberally use a spray bottle to make the paint run, resulting in an unexpected pattern and blend. In spite of the fact that the paint is already dried, it responds perfectly to that. ** The jelly cups must be kept in a container that isn't air-tight Then, after I'm finished working with them for the day, I spritz each with a little water, place the lid on the container, and place it inside a snug container to protect it A fitting plastic sleeve should be used, then another plastic bag should be double wrapped around it. It has been two weeks since I let the paints sit like that, but the paint does not seem to be drying out anymore. This has already been re-approved by me My white cup is now filled with tube white, and I think I might replace some of the colors I use with my own custom mixture. However, I am probably just going to buy another pair anyway. Despite the price, it is a good deal. Even so, it sure would be nice to buy individual colors in three packs or something like that.

The jelly gouache cups intrigued me to the point I ordered them after seeing people use them online and I wanted to give them a whirl myself. It so happens that gouache is my favorite medium for painting, so I knew I would get a lot of My problem with these cups is their practicality. I would not want a bunch of these cups on my table. The top layer of paint was drying as I was working, and I had to spray them regularly with water to prevent them from drying out. When they were put away, I placed a sheet of waxed paper between the lid and the cup to preserve their dampness. Furthermore, I cringed at the thought of dipping a dirty brush in multiple cups, just to get exactly what I was after. Scooping a bit of paint from the cups on to the plastic mixing palette with a palette knife was much more enjoyable as I found the experience to be. In that way, it didn't feel like I was wasting the entire can of paint. If you don't mind getting your hands messy, these look like they may be a good choice However, if you like colors close to their natural state, this style of paint packaging would probably not be the best for you. The paint seems to be pretty standard for a student's grade of Making mistakes or having to do lots of layers doesn't bother me, and neither does using a lot of paint. Plastic palettes included with the set can stain when stains are applied to them. The blue is the most resistant to staining in a large volume, followed by the rose/magenta. The price per volume is incredibly reasonable as well. It is a good deal when you consider how much product you receive.

The paint set came in a plastic bag that contained a clear chemical, which I think is hydrogen peroxide due to the white oxidized patches that it left on my hands (which were okay after washing my hands, but dear god, I did not get what they were for). I found a lot of white dust in the brush bristles, which may have been left over from machine shaping/trimming, but it's also something I've never encountered in all my years purchasing cheap art supplies from Chinese vendors. This paint seems to be okay on its own. Though the colors are vibrant, the texture and opacity of the fabric are The color and opaqueness of these Himi paints are very different from my Winsor and Newton designer gouache tubes and Holbein artist gouaches (not acryla gouache tubes). Paints like these are less chalky/matt and have a slightly different feel to kid's poster paint or tempura For sketching and casual gouache painting, this paint set would be suitable. You pay about what is appropriate for the quality of the paints and brushes - that is, not a steal, but on the good end of meh. If you give it as a gift, it would be questionable.
