It is a pleasure to hear from you. Brushes such as these can be used with acrylic paint for lettering.
The brush that comes to my mind for the process isn't the one I think of when I think of it.
My best use for these was to paint signs around 8" x 4" and I've enjoyed them immensely. You do not know how small your smaller details are so they may work.
It is possible to use oil paint with these.

It is my first time lettering, but I am not familiar with Lettering is a completely different ball game than the art I studied at the school of visual arts. This deal didn't pass me by because I was actually looking to buy a more expensive brush but I wanted to experiment with sizes and after 2 weeks of research, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. In any event, I went out today with brand new brushes and half-baked ideas regarding how I wanted to paint letters and they took my expectations to a whole new level. As you can see, the attached photo is far from the best from today. Only the one I observed and took a photo of on this trip and from zero knowledge to this was about 45 minutes, including taking out materials and setting up my substrate. Consider that brushes usually need to be broken in over a period of time. The practice session tomorrow is pretty exciting for me. In my experience, they performed much better after about 45 minutes than when I began, and yes, I did remove the sizing prior to use. At the end of about one hour, they became much more pleasing. The bread was delicious after being toasted for 5 hours. This product is wonderfully snappy and I found a fairly vertical hold to be the best fit This product gets 4 and a half stars from me but I still would have given 4 and a half for the brush in use. It does seem like the brushes don't seem to hold much paint, but they are pretty sexy. A natural fiber brush will be a good option to see if they can hold more paint, as well as a tweak to the ratio of reducer to paint to see if it extends drawing time. does not supply me with a longer draw or does not feel as nice as this, I will return to give this product a five star rating. I've bought a 179 since I bought these and have since bought a 179 because of the deal. It's supposed to be awesome, so that's what it is. There is no other option but this. When I practice, I think about it every time I sit down. One of these is in my hand. My cheaper brushes are less fun to use because they hold less paint, but best of all the snap and ability to get a nice chisel edge make them more fun. Those are really great people.
I like my traditional squirrel quill brushes just as much as the next painter, but these are really great for the price. They can give you the same nice chiseled edges and can be pulled very well. used these brushes and recommend them to anyone, whether a beginner, novice or experienced painter.
The quality of these quills is excellent, and well worth the price. A set of brushes and a book called "Brush Lettering" were purchased In the years since then, I have been honing my lettering skills using "step by step" by Bobbie Gray. This set of brushes is great!.

An item that is well made holds its I have never come across such quality lettering brushes at such low prices.
Mack's brushes always perform well, form perfect lines, and provide It's like using a new brush every time because the bristles get better with time.
