Questions & Answers

Can you tell me the size of the brushes contained ?

In the Da Vinci WC Kolinsky Sable travel kit you will find 3 brushes in sizes 4, 6 and 8.

Can you tell me what the difference between Russian sable and Kolinsky is?

In Siberia, the Russian Red Sable will come from Ekaterinburg, while the Harbin Kolinsky by da Vinci will come from Harbin and are excellent alternatives to Siberian Kolinsky (Da

For acrylic, how do they work?

In the end, these are very good for the price. They're not quite as good as a winsor and newton, but very close. Given the price, I highly recommend them. Acrylic is almost exclusively the medium I use to paint.

Does this more resemble European style with its slimmer body or the English fuller body ?

Winsor and Newtons appear to be more full-bodied than those of DaVinci. The brush is lovely and holds lots of paint, but I prefer the W&ampM models You might want to use Escoda and N for finer details. There is one notable exception, and it is the DaVinci travel size brushes, which are by far the best I have tried.

I used them for the first time, they were horrible! You can see how the hairs flare out when you zoom in on the image
3/5

It is a set that I bought with the intent of taking it traveling in a few weeks, but I am unable to get a straight line for detail work due to the way the hair is flared out. Water does not hold well in them either. Due to how these brushes behave and their price, it should have been obvious to me that these are not 100% red sable. DISCARD these. Your money will not be well spent. You can find cheaper brushes that are much better than these.

It's a great deal for a brush set of this quality
5/5

The brushes were made to be used with watercolor and can be used for detailing or smaller projects. It is my belief that they are perfectly suited for this use and I Hanging the brushes upside down to dry after washing them with a conditioning brush cleaner works for me. As of late, I have been doing a lot of gouache and watercolor painting. This brushes were used to paint my paintings because there is a lot of detail in Da Vinci watercolor brushes are my favorites and I use them all the time. In my collection of brushes, I own many different brands but like da Vinci brushes the best for quality and price.

Once the points are used up, they are lost! I would recommend to NOT purchase this product
3/5

It loses 3 points after only one use! You can see photos of the #8 here. As a result, I now have three very expensive mop handles to deal with. Usually Kolinsky brushes are very expensive, so I would be surprised if they are actually Kolinsky This warning is for you.

First, let me introduce myself
3/5

This is the last and probably last brush Di Vinci ever made. We need to move on now. However, I am not so sure about this brush. I have heard great things about other brushes like these. Despite my request that it be protected from the elements, it was sent to me completely unprotected in the box with some other items. The following professionals are also available - The brushes come in plastic casings to keep the bristles protected and in gelatin sizing to hold their No casing or sizing was evident, so the bristles were free of casing or sizing. I can only conclude that the people at Di Vinci are either clueless about their product, or they sent me one that has been nice so far Currently in use. Regardless of the situation, the bristles were mangled and broken. I can't see any point in it.

It's nothing to me, but perhaps the kids will like the crayola watercolors they get with it.

After 20 minutes, he was no longer in shape
3/5

No better than a round of golf. Using these brushes was my first foray into the world of natural fibers instead of synthetics. My first step was to paint some color test squares using the size 6 round brush. I noticed the brush had multiple hairs sticking out like a broom after 2 or 3 minutes. A little more than ten minutes in, I noticed the end was splitting and it was losing Water touched the brush every time and it had to be re-shaped. Just trying to brush squares with neat lines became an undertaking that was beyond frustrating after 20 minutes! I'll be back as soon as possible. In the case that the unit I received was not defective and was a standard product, that's just plain unfair There's an error. I wouldn't recommend it to someone even just starting out.

It is difficult to distinguish fine details with brushes, since they don't hold their point

This leaves me feeling very Having painted watercolors for over a decade, I am an experienced artist. It is difficult to distinguish fine details with brushes, since they don't hold their point. This leaves me feeling very.

This is a great value for the money! Windsor & Newton had these brushes on display while I was looking through their website Graphite brush from the Newton Series 7 line
5/5

In contrast to the largest, I've used every brush in these sets except the largest, all of which kept their point for months on end. In my case, this is a big deal, considering I use my brushes regularly (daily in most cases) and can sometimes be tough on them. It is easy to load the paint brush with a great reservoir, so you do not have to constantly load it up with paint. These are my go-to goggles despite the low price, but they are not only excellent but are also healthy. From now on, I will only use brushes. These are the brushes that I use to paint miniature figures I have attached a picture of some miniatures I painted using only these brushes.

There is no doubt this set was made by their factory workers
3/5

It was really disappointing to purchase this item. There are a number of DaVinci natural brushes in my collection. Among my top elite brushes, these brushes make the cut. It doesn't matter what the issue is with this set, it just didn't work. First of all, the number 6 is more like a number 4 in size. There's a closer similarity between a 4 and a The first disappointment was that I wanted to get a number 6. That's probably one of the reasons they offered so good of a price for this set. Just making their brushes smaller probably didn't cost much. In comparison with my other natural hair brushes, the size of the number 6 is the same as the size of the number 4 of three other brushes of different manufacturers. DaVinci has never been one of the undersized manufacturers, but apparently with this set they are. I understand not all manufacturers size their sets the same, but I haven't heard of DaVinci doing that. I think the real problem is that the point on numbers 6 and 4 have jagged edges. The points are not in the traditional sense of the word. Instead, they are little points that split into two, three, and four. Their appearance is rounded and blunt, with a shaggy appearance. There is no way to get neat details into corners. There are pictures of the number 6 in particular because it is one of the worst offenders. They look like DaVinci brushes to me, but I cannot figure out how they work. I have owned several natural hair brushes and these rank nowhere near the top. Look closely at one of the pictures, where shedding is visible and one of the hairs has come out entirely in the picture since it was taken. The picture on the left shows what a loaded brush looks like. Can you imagine trying to use a tool like that to paint? There almost seems to be some kind of knockoff going on here. DaVinci's brushes are so terrible that I can't believe they are released. It's one of my favorite brushes, and I own a Series 36 number 8. That's why I believe they are capable of doing Despite my best efforts, the set did not turn out well.
