I decided to buy these because they had good reviews and were reasonably priced. The brilliance of these brushes astounded me. They're actually better than the ones I bought before (at a higher price). The brushes are well-made and result in a smooth painting finish. This was a wise investment.
My project consisted of chalk painting ornate dining room chairs and finishing them with a wax finish. The paint was applied with the large brush, while the wax was applied with the small brush. br>I was blown away by their sheer size. made it possible for the project to be completed in such a short period of time They were easy to hold in either hand and were extremely soft. Neither during use nor during cleanup, which was a breeze, did a single hair fall out. They're drying right now, hung by their handy ties. I'm sure I'll be able to use these lovely tools in a variety of crafts. It was well worth the money.
I've never used chalk paint before. These brushes were recommended by my granddaughter, who was correct. I liked how they didn't shed any bristles and how easy they were to hold and paint with. I strongly advise you to purchase them.
I used this brush to apply chalk paint to my children's desk. I started painting without washing the brush, which caused it to lose some hair at first. I rinsed the brush under water to remove the loose hair, squeezed out the water, and began painting again, and it worked perfectly. I also used it to apply a rust oleum top coat to the linen white chalk paint, and the result is stunning. Every time you finish painting, I recommend washing the brush right away.
It's a breeze to work with, comfortable to hold, and clean. Excellent price/quality ratio.
These brushes are fantastic because they did exactly what I needed. There were a few stray hairs here and there, but they were minor. I have an Annie Sloan brush that sheds just as much as this one. I like that I got both a larger and a smaller one for different aspects of my project, and I would recommend both.
Since I bought them, I've used both of them quite a bit. They can be cleaned in mineral spirits for a minute and then with soapy water. They don't shed strands and are extremely useful when applying wax or paint. My purchase went well.
I bought these for my mother-in-law's birthday because she's just started painting and upcycling furniture, and she said they work great with her chalk painting projects and she's very pleased with them.
