When I bought it, I wanted to use it with real gold leaf and could not As I went on, I used imitation leaf from M.F. Leonard, which is so much tougher that you really don't need a brush. You can just lay it on carefully with your fingertips, unattainable when using real leaf.

The purpose for which it was designed was a waste of time and money. As far as I know, imitation gold leaf does not work. There is nothing more to it than cardboard handling the brush hairs. I understand now why it is so inexpensive.
It is a good brush, but it is so thin that the hairs are not densely packed, so they do not catch the gold as effectively as a denser brush and tend to tear it when picked Generally, it will do the job, but it won't be ideal for fine details.
This is an extremely thin material. The price was too high for what it was.
