For staining, I've also used one. The quality is comparable to any other brand I've used before; however, these are intended to be low-cost, limited-use, and disposable. You can get them here for convenience, but you might be able to get them for half the price at a big box store. I had no idea I was paying such a high price, and I take full responsibility for it; you have been warned.
Simply go to the dollar store for a quick fix. I paid $1 for the EXACT SAME item at Dollar Tree. You get what you pay for in terms of value, so if I had known I could have purchased the exact same item for $1, I would have known what to expect; however, because these were more expensive, I expected more. It was entirely my fault. After a few strokes, the foam ripped or fell off. Before I had to switch, I had maybe 20 minutes. In the end, I just used an old sock and painted it. I was able to complete the job faster, for a lower cost, and with a higher quality of work.
Quality is of poor quality. As they say, you get what you pay for. The quality is very low. Although the foam was not as dense as most foam brushes I've used, it did the job. I've had a few of these fall apart after just one use. I don't think you'll be able to use these more than once. I was able to easily separate the handles from the foam, so I used the majority of them in one project.
After a short period of time, the sponges come off the little dowel, and the sponges begin to break. For one garden bed, I used three. They did, however, outlast the ones I purchased from Hobby Lobby. It's well worth the money. Because they break down so easily, it's a good thing you have multiples.
I was looking for some inexpensive sponge brushes for my kids to play with, and I found exactly what I was looking for. If you need high-quality artwork or commercial paint touch-ups, don't order these; however, if you need kids' toys or small sponges for a one-time or two-time use, these are ideal.
They've come in handy for applying stain and paint to small projects. They do provide a good coat, and considering the price, I like that they are disposable.
These quickly become saturated with paint and begin to fall apart, whereas cheaper models from Home Depot/Lowe's last much longer and appear to be of higher quality.
Brushes that are very inexpensive. While I was painting, they disintegrated. I had to use several of them for a single project, so it wasn't a good investment.
