The problem with these brushes is that the foam collapses when they are used, making it impossible to paint anything that requires precision. I couldn't even get through painting a chest of drawers without using at least four of them. The absurd thing is that the handles are of exceptional quality, so using inferior foam makes no sense. Despite the fact that you get a lot of brushes for your money, they aren't very good.
When I install LP siding, I use 1" foam brushes. I'm not a fan of Academy Art Supply's brushes. The foam is of poor quality and frequently does not adhere well to the stick. After the first 50, I regretted my decision to buy 300 of them. They're fine for crafts and the like, but they're not right for my needs.
This is the ideal size for a variety of my tasks; I originally purchased them to clean the hard-to-reach ring around my instapot, but I can also use them to apply primer to my rocks before painting them. There are numerous applications for this product.
I mean, these are foam brushes, so that's not a problem. They were used to apply a layer of shellac to a piece of furniture that had just been finished. They are not well supported by the plastic piece on the inside, and as a result, they disintegrate over time. There's a reason they're so cheap.
I find that using something only once and then discarding it works well for me.
These were probably around 1" wide, but not nearly as wide as most 1" foam brushes. It's also of poor quality. I'm coming back.
These were purchased with the intention of being used in the classroom.
