Do you know what Mod Podge is? No, they aren't the same thing.
It was purchased to complete a painting that I was working on. I was having issues with varnishing directly over my pigments, and I'm hoping this will help. In my multi-media projects, I use gloss medium as a kind of glue and sealer. I hope this information is useful. I've found Golden to be extremely helpful in terms of product information.
This isolation coat protects your art while the removable varnish on the outside can be removed (along with any vandalism, etc) using solvent. When your art is outdoors or in a public space, there's a chance it'll get tagged, dirtied, vandalized, etc. This isolation coat protects your art while the removable varnish on the outside can be removed (along with any vandalism, etc.) using solvent.
I'm not sure how thick the silicone is that you're using as a protective layer. However, I applied the isolation coat directly to my canvas (acrylic painting) and then varnished it with Soluvar. For me, it was a win-win situation. So, yes, you can put resin on top of it; however, the silicone is a little more iffy. Before applying anything on top of the isolation coat, I recommend letting it dry overnight. I hope this has been of assistance.

This method worked, but be cautious when applying the first layer. I watched videos and read the instructions three times because this was my first time using a sealer. I felt prepared, so I grabbed a big brush and went to work, only to discover that my first two strokes had smeared my colors. My acrylic was definitely set after a week of sitting on the painting. I panicked, so a friend and I grabbed smaller brushes and went over each color one by one. It took a little longer, but when I came back to do a second coat, I was able to use my big brush because all of the colors had sealed and didn't smear throughout the rest of the process. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if my paints were bad, but this stuff sealed like a champ; I just had to be careful when applying the first layer.
I painted a mural, not intending to put in so much detail or spend so much time on it, but that's how things usually go. I didn't sand the wall much because I wanted it to be quick and easy, so it's still bumpy. br>On that type of surface, the product bubbles easily, so keep your layers thin and gentle. When it dried, it lost its bubbly appearance. br>br> In the end, I did two layers. To give you an idea of how much you'll need, the width was about 8 by 4 feet, and I used up the majority of the bottle.
It looks fantastic. This product was originally purchased to make epoxying easier, appear smoother, and reduce headaches associated with applying epoxy to canvas. I discovered that it does exactly that; it applies easily with only one or two coats required, and it looks fantastic. What struck me as particularly intriguing was how good the photos looked with only this product in them. I've used epoxy and gloss to make my paintings shine, but I really like how this product shines by itself. It isn't reflective; rather, it gives the impression of being wet. Take a chance.
Golden products are my favorites. When I apply a matte varnish, I use this. It's fantastic!.
Arrived on time and in excellent condition. Although I haven't tried it yet, Golden products are known for their high quality.
