Questions & Answers
Because it's an acrylic base, it shouldn't cause any issues on wood if the surface is smooth.
This is a primer that creates a sanded surface for soft pastels to adhere to. It would not work with oil pastels, as far as I am aware.
It's made of acrylic and is water-based. On plastic, I wouldn't put my trust in it. However. If that's what you're looking for, there are primers for plastics that you can apply on top of.
I haven't had the opportunity to put it to use yet. I intend to make a surface that will hold the paint without allowing it to seep through the cracks in the wood. Please define "doll repaints" for me.

I'm a pastel artist who needs a lot of underpainting, base surface color, and texture flexibility. If those are your objectives, this is EXACTLY the product for you. I used watercolors and acrylics to create the underpainting. It's something I've tried with watercolors. I've used up to four coats to achieve the desired texture on a variety of surfaces, including pastel papers, canvas, and fiberboard, with no issues in allowing each coat to dry completely between coats. It's a little milky in the jar, but it's crystal clear when you drink it.
I'm new to pastel art and found this to be very useful when applied to some board panels I already had to give them the tooth needed for pastels. It has a slightly abrasive texture and is good at holding pastels.
Worked on pastel paper to give it more tooth so the pastel would stay in place. I'm going to buy it again. Locally, there has been a significant improvement in what I can find and buy.
This product is used to prepare paper for pastel use. It functions admirably.
