Questions & Answers

Is it possible to mount this on a lazy Susan, so that it can easily be spun around to access the various ?

In short, yes. As it is heavy enough, it should not slip, but if not, I may put a gripper on it It should be covered by a slip mat. If you would like to buy a lazy susan ring, you can search on amazon. A ring with little pins on each side and two interlocking rings that I found has a slot on the bottom for holding The purpose of buying it was to make a lazy susan out of something I had, but now I see it in another light.

Can you tell me if this palette is pure white or off white? Thank you! ?

There is a hint of grey in it, but it's white. There is no cream color in the

Can you tell me how much this weighs?

According to my scale, the weight of my box including the lid is just over 8 pounds. Also, I have about half of the wells filled with paint. This is a fairly new system. It is so pleasing to the eye. Nevertheless, I see that another reader wrote that it would not work My concern is that I will drop and break it, but it has not happened yet. Mixing paint in it is one of my favorite things to do.

It's my own fault really that I bought it, but at least I regret it

heavy, and it's impressive to the extent that it's impressive! I gave it five stars because it is exactly as described and has good attributes. This is a great design because the wells are arranged in a giant circle, and you can put many different colors in it without it staining. After I bought it, I discovered that I had difficulty choosing which colors to put in the "big three" spots. I thought I would practice mixing and color theory but soon realized I was stuck on what to do. I was constantly perplexed by the fact that each red, yellow and blue primary has a warm version and a cool version, so I never knew which pair to put in the biggest well. It wasn't good enough for me to have just three wells on my wheel, and I was getting so freaked out because this thing is SO CLOSE to being perfect. (Do you think I might be a little OCD?) The big empty thing has been sitting on a shelf since I bought it, taunting me because I am unsure how to use it. The game would have been more enjoyable if it came with two large spots for each primary that were larger than the other wells. If you serve fancy appetizers on it, as it is, it makes an exciting platter! Anyway, you live and you learn. Anyone up for some The palettes I've tried so far have been several different ones. Now that I have an empty tin full of pans with magnets, I just ordered an enamel butcher tray and a tin full of empty pans with magnets, which I think would be a better set. This is my cup of tea. They can live in the storage tin when not in use, and when required, I just pull out whatever paint colors I want from the storage tin, and place them in the butcher tray in whatever pattern I like at the time, while the magnets will hold them in place. It would have been great to have a Stephen Quiller porcelain palette, but given my insane nature, I cannot have one. However, I do hope you enjoy it! It's actually a really nice palette, and I'm sure I will revisit it at some point!.

Investment that is the best! I love this palette so much! Now, let me address a couple of the minor negatives
5/5

Luckily, the thin plastic lid is a pleasing alternative to what a lot of buyers dislike, since I think it is nice to have an easy-to-set-aside container There was some foam tape on the wall that was sad, did not make it to the other end. Despite that, the packaging was great and did the job of protecting my palette in transit! As the box arrived, it looked as though it was aboard the ship that took penguins from Madagascar to Madagascar, but the palette was in perfect condition! In the beginning I used a sharpie to label my colors on the mixing area, however, they ended up rubbing off after a few minutes. As it happens, I don't need the labels, since I made my own color chart for my work area. (I included a template in the pictures section. ) I like that this is the perfect size! I am so glad I invested!.

Palette of excellent quality
4/5

I am satisfied with my progress so far. There is no doubt that this palette is a solid ceramic. Because it is so heavy, it is not as convenient as a portable color palette, but it is for use in studios. As I added some felt feet to the bottom, the unfinished underneath did not scrape up every surface it was placed on, so it would have been nice if they were included on the bottom. Furthermore, I managed to strip the foam intended to be used as a lid liner since the adhesive on it is very strong and cannot be repositioned. Cleanup of the palette is excellent, as one would expect. There is a bit of a problem with the corner wells holding large brushes, which appears to be a common complaint about In the end, it has been a good experience.

It's a joy to use
5/5

These colors are set up in conjunction with Stephen Quiller's recommended set of neutrals and complementary colors. The fact that Quiller designed it makes it ideal for use in this way. It is heavy, massive, and feels like a solid piece of art. It is too big for use while plein air and should only be used in the studio. The 1-to-1 ratio works best for me There are four inch brushes in this palette, and it is wonderful. The results of mixing watercolors on ceramic are far superior to those on plastic, where water Despite its small size, the name of Quiller is stamped on its cover in large, black lettering, and I find this annoying. This is the white artist tape that was pulled out. The rest of the experience has been flawless for me. From the ground up, this is a quality product designed and developed by world-class engineers If there is a better watercolor palette available I could not locate it after an exhaustive search. He was a world-class watercolorist and color theorist. The best for those who want the best (and who have the space) should opt for this option. Using this palette will be the best way to paint watercolors in the studio.

A beautiful palette
5/5

I love it. This palette is amazing! I am in awe of it! Cleanup is so easy, and working with it is so enjoyable. You can't go back to plastic once you've moved to porcelain or ceramic, and it's really hard to paint on something that doesn't have a lot of wells or places to put a lot of paint colors, so I think this is amazing. The weight of the bottle is enough to put it on my kitchen lazy susan, which is heavy duty enough for the weight of it. There have been a couple of comments that are concerned about the weight, but my lazy susan has no problem carrying it. The monitor turn table that accommodates this much weight can easily be found in turns tables that handle much more than this one does. There is no doubt that it is much more practical on a turntable. I received it with no problems, the vendor who sold it to me was very quick in shipping and it was very well wrapped! It was a great purchase in the end!.

Although I was hesitant to buy it due to the price, I am extremely happy with it
5/5

Since I am new to watercolor, I have tried a few other palettes, but in some way or another they have failed me But I love the Quiller porcelain palette. I think it would be great if the plastic stains, the wells are too small, the palette is too light weight, etc. A nice feature of this palette is its weight (you cannot carry it around with you), the size of the wells so a large brush fits, and the circular arrangement that makes sense to me for A simple soap and water wash will do the trick for cleaning this palette. The price was worth it, particularly since I spent half of what this cost on several plastic palettes I didn't particularly like. This palette will last for a very long time, as long as you take decent care of it, although I can see it cracking I would like to make the plastic lid tighter, but that is the only thing that could be improved. This plastic container comes with an enclosed roll of foam tape that should be adhered to the lip of the inside lid to keep it in place. The pieces I used in the corners were only 2" each. It was less than four stars because the lid would eventually get painted, be wet, and so on. When it gets painted, gets wet, etc. , the tape around the entire perimeter would become an issue. It should just be smaller. In summary, I give it a five-star rating on the palette, and it gets.
