As for the bottom, it is made from porcelain as well. It is sometimes useful to mix at the bottom if I need an area deeper.
it to store small mixed batches of oil paints. They stay quite moist, but from time to time I add a little mineral spirit to keep them moist. These bowls are awesome, I have two sets! I love acrylic, but I'm not sure I like the bowls.
These are completely glazed on all sides. It is only the top edge that feels a little rough, but it is still glazed and is easily removed. When you wipe your brush on the edge of the dish to eliminate excess paint, I think the paint will stay in the dish since it is rough. Having this feature is a nice touch. In other words, it's glazed all over, but the top edge is textured in a slight way.
Stack them so that the diameter of the actual "bowl" will be 8", the outside diameter of each dish is 10", and there is a lip to make them stackable. The number five. There are two bowls in the "bowl." There are five inches across and three and a sixteenth inches across the dish. Among the dishes, there are five and a Three of them add up to three".

I loved the shape, size and nestability of the items, but the glaze on the bottoms of two of the items was damaged, leading me to return them. This is the first time this has happened from this brand.
Updated In the end, I decided to buy a replacement and found that it only had one small scratch on the inside rim of just one of the ceramic "bowls" (dishes) that would not affect my good paint brushes (slight Despite the fact that the separate dishes do not seem to be exactly the same shape, they seem to stack quite securely, though the lid does not sit very securely on top of it (perhaps using washi tape would keep it in place). For classes I am taking online, I bought these to make larger mixes of paint for paintings that use similar color combinations rather than using the tiny wells in my ceramic palettes, hoping that I could spend more time painting and less time mixing, and maintain consistency in the colors for each project.
Silk painting was something I wanted to try, but the beginner kit of silk dyes I purchased only had the 3 primary colors and In order to get the exact color of dye I wanted, I used these. I could easily get "less" paint on my brush by dabbing in the middle, or "more" by dabbing around the edges, due to the slight incline of the middle. I have since ordered a second set of these since they worked out so well. This is how my dyes dried overnight in these dishes. I wiped away what I could with a paper towel the next day and swishing in a tub of warm water - I didn't want to disturb any of the cells. Swishing brought them back to life in less than 5 seconds. The glaze is smooth and even, not stained or uneven that would make it very hard to clean any I really like these.
There are some areas of exposed clay and glaze drips on these porcelain bowls due to the glaze being bubbly and inconsistent. The pigments in watercolor settle in these egregious flaws in the glaze and it is quite frustrating to try to keep them I actually found a set of four porcelain saucers (part of a set intended for serving appetizers) which are not much bigger than these at a thrift store and they are perfect because of the glaze. Now, these Jack Richeson bowls sit unused on my desk.
They are the perfect size, and they stack easily so I do not have to worry about taking up any desk space. To travel with them, I'd like it if they came in a cardboard tube.
The only thing I wish I had more of was Acrylics will not dry out for at least two days if they are kept in these containers.
Watercolors are created using this tool. The product is easy to clean and can be reused quickly. It is high quality but made of In my opinion, I would not use this for traveling.
This is just the right size to mix different colors of A little cleaning can go a long way!.
