Questions & Answers
Yes, because it's acrylic paint. Spray paint, on the other hand, would be more effective.
The consistency was similar to most of my other acrylic paints, but it did take a little longer to dry than usual.
My grandson used them to decorate his plastic toys, and they looked great.
If you use this paint, we recommend that you buy our outdoor acrylic paint or use it with acrylic seal medium.
Selected User Reviews For Magicfly 30 Colors Acrylic Paint Set (2fl oz/60ml Each), Non-Toxic Craft Paints with 3 Brushes, for Multi-Surface Paint on Canvas, Paper, Wood, Stone, Ceramic and Model, Acrylic Paint Art Supplies for Artists, Adults & Kids
Despite reading some of the reviews, I decided to give these a shot. I'm glad I took the opportunity to do so. The smell of these acrylic paints was mentioned by one person. These, in my opinion, smell like other acrylic craft paints, such as Plaid, and are not offensive; they simply smell like regular acrylic paint. Another comment stated that these dried too quickly, but I did not find this to be the case. Before they dried, I felt like I had plenty of time to work with them and blend them. The lack of a true primary red in this set is my only criticism. The reds range in color from a lovely burgundy to a bright orange. So if you're looking for a traditional Christmas red, this set isn't for you. However, this set contains some lovely and unusual colors, including a magenta, a lovely robin's egg blue, and a mossy green. I just keep them in the box after I've used them because the bottom of the box has a plastic tray that keeps the bottles in place neatly. Use a damp brush to paint with these if you want to get the feel of gouache paint. If you want a watercolor effect, add a few drops of water to your paint in your palette, and it will thin out nicely. This set includes three synthetic brushes; they're adequate for a bonus item, and the smallest brush has a nice point. I painted a 15-minute sunflower with these and a black Sharpie for details in the photos. To demonstrate the colors, I created a swatch chart. I'm glad I gave these a shot because, after experimenting with them, I've discovered that they're simple to use and versatile.
This is not the paint for you if you need your paint to stay wet in your palette for more than 5 minutes. This is NOT the paint for me! I do mandala art and need a paint that isn't goopy and stays a good consistency after 30 minutes. I would not have purchased this paint if I had known it was made in China! Instead of peeling the dried paint off my pallet like I did with my Folk Art paint, I had to chip it off. I will never, ever buy this product again.
It's possible that I mixed up professional and premium acrylic paint quality. For someone who is just getting started with acrylic paint, the MagicFly acrylic paint is a good value. Because the box contains 30 color variations, you won't need to mix as much, and the 2fl oz bottles are a good value for money. br>br>The dullness of the colors after drying was a challenge for me. Arteza Premium Acrylic Paint and Michaels Artist's Loft serve as my baseline comparisons. If you want to paint with a palette knife and create a thick texture on your canvas, this isn't the palette for you.
I like the color combinations and how bright the colors are. Some of the colors seem to clump together, which I don't like. It's probably drying because I'm working on a complicated painting. In the paint tray, it dries relatively quickly. It's what I've been painting on rocks with.
So much so that I had to put a limit on the amount of paint I could use. It was a no-brainer for me when I saw the price. I'd pay a lot more at a craft store for 30 bottles, and the variety of colors is perfect. year- old had no trouble painting with them, and all of the bottles are in good condition so far — none are dried up or smelly.
For two reasons, I give it three stars: The set includes a paint bottle that has clearly been damaged. br>br>The set includes a paint bottle that has clearly been damaged. br>br>The set contains a paint bottle that has clearly been damaged. Because the box was sealed with tape and encased in plastic, I believe this happened at the factory where it was made and packaged. The turquoise bottle is unable to be opened, and the adjacent color's lid has a turquoise spot. I attempted to open the turquoise several times but was unsuccessful. I believe the paint has dried, which is why I am unable to open it. Second, it has a stronger odor than the acrylic paints I've bought in craft stores. Because it's a lower-quality paint, I'd expect it to be less expensive. I'm not sure what kind of chemical fumes it's emitting. I recommend using it in a well-ventilated area or outside. br>br>Aside from those two issues, the paint spreads well and has a nice color. I won't be painting with it; instead, I'll be doing some holiday crafts with it. br>br>If you can get past the company's lack of attention to detail when it comes to packaging and the odor, this will do the job.
I was initially concerned because a few of the colors appeared to be muddy. Apart from that (the red and one of the pinks), I really like these paints. They're a thick, almost gel-like liquid with a high level of opacity - I'd expect much more expensive paints to do something like this. This is a good starter set that includes the majority of the colors you'll need.
They not only perform admirably in my airbrush, but I've also decided to use them for brush painting projects. With just a little knowledge of acrylic paints and the colors in this set, you can create some beautiful scenes. My first attempt with the colors was airbrushing a canvas piece for which I had an idea, and I was able to match the colors perfectly. I've never been more pleased with a work of art than I was with that one. I felt like a genuine artist for the first time.
