Questions & Answers
It's made of real pottery.
It doesn't have a cover and is open. It's a fun palette, and if you want it to stay wet, you can put it in a small plastic container.
My granddaughters and I use ours to decorate cookies. I made a mixture of egg yolk and food coloring, dividing the spaces with different colors. I use a toothpick to mix a little egg yolk with a drop of food coloring in the spaces we want to use. For each color we use, we use paint brushes with different colored handles. br>This product is ideal for this application. It's easy to clean in the dishwasher (or by hand) once we're done.
Simply use soap to clean it. If you're thirsty, bring some water with you. Painting is completed. This palette cleans up easily with watercolors and gouache.

While the design of the palette is lovely, one of the wells was defectively glazed when I received it. During firing, the glaze had pooled at the bottom, leaving exposed porcelain along the well's top and side. When I first used the palette, I noticed it. The improper glazing became apparent as soon as color settled into the cracks. Nothing I've tried has worked, so I'm returning the palette for a refund. What a let-down.
It's a little smaller than what's listed; it's about 5 inches long. 5 inches. The grooves on the back don't match the photos, and the wells on the front are a little different as well; two wells on mine are actually one awkwardly shaped one, and the dividers on a couple of them are so shallow that they'd bleed. If it were a little bigger and the wells were as shown, this would be a very useful palette. It appears to be overpriced for what I received, which was not what was pictured or described.
This is such a cute palette. It's a little smaller than I had anticipated, but I still enjoy it. Because it's breakable, I won't take it with me on trips. I didn't mind because it was for my desk. This is what I use for smaller projects, such as cards and details. I dabbed tube paint colors in various places and let them dry on a regular basis. As a result, it's ready to eat without much preparation. I hope this has been of assistance.
" I got this as a small gift for myself, and it's the perfect size. I was about to purchase a standard six-sided circular one when this one caught my eye, and it was love at first sight. It makes me happy and has a lot of little paintable areas.
This is, without a doubt, the best ceramic mixing palette on the market. It's more than just a piece of equipment. It's made with great care and attention to detail. It's appealing to the eye and has a substantial weight to it when held in the hand, and the underside grooves make it comfortable to hold due to the smooth glazed finish. It also has 20 mixing wells of various sizes in one small package, which is a bonus. After using messy watercolors, acrylics, or casein paints, the glazed ceramic is easy to clean. This is a purchase that you cannot go wrong with because it will last for at least 20 years.
It's made of ceramic, which is extremely durable and easy to maintain. Just keep in mind that because there are so many of them, the wells are TINY. They're big enough to mix enough paint/water for a few paint strokes, but not big enough to mix up a large batch of a custom color for smooth background washes, etc. This is better for mixing small amounts of paint. I wish there was a dinner version of this. the size of the plate.
I like how this palette has so many different wells. It enables me to work with a large number of colors at once without the colors becoming muddy. I like the size of the palette because it fits well in my hand (I do a lot of very fine work), but I'd like to have a much larger palette with the same shape but smaller wells. After I finish my work, I let my paint dry in place so that I can start working on my next piece. When I'm ready to "reset" my colors, I'm confident that the paint will simply slip off under running water.
I got the 6" porcelain version, and I absolutely adore it. I mixed paints on my butcher palette, and the colors ran to the edges and/or bled together, came out too thin, and so on, causing problems with my paintings. This keeps my paints in their own wells, allowing me to save a lot more for the next project, and it also makes loading my very fine brushes (round 0) much easier when I'm doing precision lettering. Then there's the fact that it's also stunning in person! It's heavy and well-made, and I plan on keeping it for a long time. I couldn't be more pleased!.
