You can avoid this by putting your pigment on the palette's periphery (the dish's edge) and being careful with how much water you add to it. Your paints will be more pliable if you wet them down an hour or so before painting. I hope this has been of assistance.
The bottom is not glazed in the same way that the top is. It has a bisque look to it, but it's incredibly smooth. I doubt it will scratch your work surface, but I suppose that depends on how delicate the glass is. I hope this has been of assistance.
The inner ring is sloped downward to the center, with a flat bottom on the outside and a slope side on the outside.

When working with watercolors, a ceramic palette is recommended. When you pour water into one of these wells, it pools and puddles rather than beading into smaller clumps. It's easier to see how much pigment is in the wash when it's this way. I also like that it's bright white and doesn't stain, even when used with pthalos, allowing you to see your paint mixes in their true colors. br>br>I'm very pleased with my purchase because it arrived in excellent condition and was defect-free.
Despite the fact that I expected this palette to be a little smaller than it is, I am so glad I bought it! It's quickly become one of my go-to recipes. All of my watercolor work is done on this palette. The wells are deep enough that I can mix to my heart's content without worrying that the colors will slosh over the edges and into neighboring wells, and the two wells in the center are large enough to hold several colors right out of the tube, or to provide additional mixing space, or even to serve as water wells. This isn't a palette you'd bring on a trip. My only caution is that this palette is listed as "for Watercolor Gouache Acrylic Oil Painting," and while I can't speak to using it with gouache or oils, I would not use a palette of this type with acrylics. I believe it would be difficult to clean due to the deep wells. But it's fantastic for watercolors!.
I purchased this watercolor palette because I have a lot of open stock watercolors that I needed to mix together. This item is fantastic, particularly considering the price. I used pathlo blues and carmine reds that didn't leave any stains on my palette. The image I've uploaded shows the palette after I've used it to paint with it; the colors don't bead up, and the wells are deep enough to ensure an even wash. It also feels incredibly solid and not in the least bit flimsy. I'm very pleased with my purchase and will buy it again if I need something similar. In addition, it arrived in a safe box.
I can carry it in my art bag because it is light and small. I was so pleased with it that I bought another! The first is for my palette, while the second is for color mixing.
I wish the two wells in the middle could be combined into a single large, flat mixing area. That would be ideal for a small room. The two wells in the center, on the other hand, can still be used for mixing paints, but they are somewhat limited due to their size. Aside from that, it's fantastic. The unit is small and simple to operate.
However, the color scheme is appealing. It's a lovely palette, but it's quite small. The problem is that I thought it had 12 regular wells when I bought it, but it only has 10 regular wells and two mixing wells in the center. I wanted to make a color wheel in the shape of a circle with 12 wells. It's a good buy if you're looking for a small palette with 10 regular wells. I would have figured it out if I had read the reviews, but I didn't have the time. In any case, the title should be updated to reflect the situation.
I use Alcohol Inks and Watercolors to create my artwork. This color scheme is stunning. It's easy to clean and doesn't move around when you're working with colors. I also like the two-section center for brush rinses, both dirty and clean. The 12 wells are ideal, and I'm thinking about getting one for my greens. For my reds, this is one. One for my yellows, and another for my greens. Alcohol inks and watercolors are never wasted; they can be left to dry in the wells and used again. They'll be ready to use later if you activate them now. In general, this is a fantastic purchase.
I'm at a loss for words. This is a good porcelain pallet if you're looking for one. Because it doesn't come with a lid, I'd recommend using plastic wrap or foil to keep your materials safe inside; just make sure not to tilt it with the foil. Also, whether it's covered or not, inks will dry out in a day or two. Because watercolor is re-emerging as a popular medium, It should be fine if it's a little wet.
