To reduce costs, you could buy a set of generic AC filters and cut them on the fly at Lowe's or another home improvement store
A bright blue color can be found on them
It would be a great addition if that were the case. In order to accomplish that, I'll have to make a separate switch. However, I do not have any issues with it.
Yes, it is possible to remove it. When you want to use it, you can.

When working in a small room, the concentration of CO2 becomes 200 mg/m3. Models are my favorite hobby and I paint and build them when I'm not working on them. In the beginning of my airbrushing career, I needed a set up that would allow me to paint and topcoat in a small area without having to deal with trapped volatile organic compounds. Despite being skeptical that it would have any effect, I purchased this booth. In addition to monitoring particulate matter and volatile organic compounds in the air, I have a monitor that measures air quality. In a room without the booth, or with the suction turned off, the VOC concentration of paint solvents and Mr. Super Clear topcoat is approximately 1 when using paint solvents or a solvent-based topcoat. A concentration of 2 mg/m3 is best. In an enclosed space, that's an unusually high level and will require a respirator and lots of ventilation in order to make it safe at the end of the day. Using the booth completely prevents the VOCs from being released into the air. A reading of 03 mg/m3 would be appropriate. I think that's a huge improvement in safety. Although this product is a good buy, there are some downsides to consider. The first is that the overall construction of the piece is pretty flimsy, which makes assembly a bit frustrating since things don't always fit together exactly the way they should unless you force them to. Also, the light is not on a separate switch from the ventilation (which is quite loud) even though it is powerful and great. Therefore, if you're working on something that does not require ventilation, but would still benefit from some good lighting (non-fluorescent Paints, stickers, and assembly products containing VOCs), you either need a separate light or have to tolerate vent noise. As the product works exactly as it's supposed to do and does it very well, all of these issues really cannot be considered major ones.
The quality of this is every bit as good as the ones you find listed for almost twice the price. I previously purchased one, and I'm almost positive they're made in the same factory and the only difference is the packaging name. A good booth for airbrushing is this one for you if you're thinking about buying one. In addition, it makes an excellent booth for painting with brushes as well, due to the lights.
Otherwise, it's almost perfect. There's no way I could use my old one, so I had to buy a new flexible one, but the new one cost pretty little. As a whole, this item is simple to assemble and does exactly what it's designed to do. They could have provided a more standard air duct that is not made of plastic and is more flexible.
As a gift for my husband, I bought this for him during Christmas. He was very pleased with it. It will appeal to model builders working in fine scale.
It really works well. They are very nice and provide just the right amount of light to paint with. Does a good job of filtering the exhaust air.
This item seems to be well made and perfect for what I need. It'll be updated down the road once it's been used more often.
