Questions & Answers

According to the reviews, there appear to be a lot of lemon units. Are you still happy with it now that you've had it for so long?

I'm very pleased with it, and I use it at least three times a week. I use it four times a week to paint my model cars, and it's been flawless so far, and I've had it for almost two years.

Is it possible to change or reset the Preset for automatic turn off and on at 43 psi?

While you can change the output psi, the preset on/off feature cannot be changed. Usually, I keep my psi between 17 and 18 pounds per square inch. When it falls below that, I turn off my compressor and then turn it back on.

When the only gauge available is the tank's pressure, how can one determine the regulator's psi?

The regulated pressure, not the tank pressure, is displayed on the gauge.

What can I do to keep the pressure from rising too high? I left it on but it wasn't running, so it blew up and splattered paint all over me. ?

That doesn't sound like a compressor to me; it sounds like a clicker airbrush that has suddenly become unclogged. When the tank is full, it shuts down and the pressure is released through the pressure regulator you set. Unfortunately, I believe this to be a case of user error.

Selected User Reviews For Master Airbrush Model TC-40T - Cool Runner Professional High Performance Single-Piston Airbrush Air Compressor with 3-Liter Air Tank, 2 Holders, Regulator, Gauge, Water Trap Filter & Air Hose

A good 6' hose is included with the unit
4/5

Prior to purchasing this one, I had never used a small portable compressor for my Paasche airbrush. I did a lot of research before making this decision. The majority of all brand reviews discussed how loud or quiet they are while running. No, I'm not joking when I say that I've heard cats purr louder than this device. I would have given it five stars if it weren't for one minor issue. All Paasche hoses are too small for the treaded nipple on the hose connection. The unit does come with a good 6' hose that fits on the outflow nipple, but the other end is way too large for almost all brands of airbrushes at the airbrush connection, which is nuts. I looked for the correct adapter fitting for hours on the internet. It was only $6. Master could include a universal, 3- or 4-piece threaded connector kit for an extra $6 buck added to the compressor's price. I would gladly pay it. It's an odd oversight. Aside from that, the unit is a true gem.

The compressor is fantastic as a starter, but Badger users will need the adapter
5/5

After days of deliberation and reading various reviews on the best first-time air brush compressor, I decided on this. I'm doing small 1/48 scale planes and didn't think I needed the tank, but I'm glad I listened to other reviewers and got it. The tank will hold about 30 seconds of continuous air at 10 psi with very gentle brushing before the compressor kicks in. After that, it will run for about 10 seconds before resuming. br>br>The compressor is quiet in and of itself. That was a huge selling point for me. I noticed that some other brands claim 65dB, while this one claims 48dB, so that was an important factor in my decision. It was averaging around 58 decibels with a simple decibel meter on my phone and the compressor running about a foot away. 60dB. It could be quieted down even more by simply moving it a foot or two away. It's about as loud as a normal conversation, for those who aren't familiar with decibel ratings. I can airbrush all night with my girlfriend in the next room, and all I hear is a soft hum. br>br>While the included hose is nice at 6 feet, I believe a 10 foot hose would be preferable. However, believe me when I say that IF YOU HAVE A BADGER AIRBRUSH, YOU WILL NEED THE ADAPTER. I strongly advise you to purchase the "Badger Air-Bagger Air-Bagger Air-Bagger Air "Iwata Hose Adaptor by Brush Company. " It fits my Patriot 105 and the included hose like a glove. There are no leaks, so I'll let it sit with a full tank for a few weeks to see if the pressure holds. In general, I am very pleased with my purchase. I would have gladly paid $150 for this unit, and I believe it to be the best all-around option. close to the compressor starter The TC- is not something I would recommend. TC-20 or TC-Normal Spend a few more dollars on this bad boy. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: As of this month's update, Airbush has about 10-years of experience. After 15 hours of use, it's still going strong. When I returned, I noticed the price had increased by $75, but they had also increased the tank size, which I think is fantastic because some people had expressed concern about the lack of capacity. Those of you who buy today will get a much nicer unit with the larger tank, and probably at a lower price than I did; I still love it, and if I were more serious about airbrushing, I'd definitely upgrade to the larger tank.

Air connections that are a bit hazy - Here's where you can learn more about connectors! I was blown away by how quiet the running was
3/5

The air connections aren't up to par. br>br>Like other buyers who were perplexed by a 1/8" NPT (national pipe thread) connector on the compressor, the threads on the compressor and the hose are BPS (another AFIK term for metric). Quick disconnect fittings with NPT threads are standard on all of my airbrushes. On the internet, look for a BPS to NPT adapter. (Both tapered and parallel BPS threads are present). TCP Global (google) was the item's importer, so I called them at (858) 909- I called 2110 (waded through the phone tree) and was able to purchase adapters from them for about $6 each, including S br>br>I agree with the suggestion that when sold in the United States, a BPS to NPT adapter be included.

It's going to take two gauges! Surprisingly, the room was deafeningly silent
4/5

It was a little quieter than a normal conversation, and I wouldn't have been able to hear it if my wife and her girlfriends were present. lol. I only used it for a day and gave it four stars because it is ineffective. It fills the tank to 57 pounds, then shuts down and starts up again at around 43 pounds, give or take. All of this can be found on the website's description page. What it doesn't tell you is that if you lower the air pressure to 25 psi, the compressor will start at 25 psi and shut off around 30 psi. A half-tank of air has been lost. A second gauge for tank capacity pressure is required by the compressor. It didn't come with any sort of guidance. To unlock the regulator knob, for example, you must pull up on it to lower or raise pressure. What is the air outlet fitting's size and thread? According to the information on the web, it is 1/8", but my tape measure says it is 1/4". It is compatible with my Iwata-based system. The air hose fittings on the Medea eclipse airbrush are knurled, so tightening with fingers is simple and there is no air leakage. Overall, it appears that this is a good compressor. As I use it, I'll keep you up to date on my findings. Another issue is that the compressor came without a warranty card, so you'll have to go back and take a screenshot of the warranty page. The warranty is for five years.
