Questions & Answers

Is it necessary for me to purchase an air compressor? Which do you think would be best to use with this airbrush? I'm a total noob when it comes to this! ?

Yes, an air compressor must be purchased separately. br>I bought a generic brand air compressor with a tank on the bottom that had a lot of good reviews. If you get one without a tank, according to what I've read. Because it is constantly pumping air, there is a good chance that the air compressor will overheat and shut down until it cools down. It will become too hot and overheated over time. It is entirely dependent on your airbrushing requirements. I recommend getting one with a tank so you don't have to deal with that problem. br>After purchasing an air compressor and an airbrush gun, all you need is the hose that connects the airbrush gun and the air compressor. The thread size on some air compressors is not stated. Make sure you research the air hose's thread because not all air hose are created equal. An adapter will be required for some.

Would you consider this brush to be an "all-around" brush? Do you want a "all-around" paint job or do you want to spend more time on the details? Ex: Models of the Gundam?

That is something that any airbrush, including this one, can do. That's how I've been using it for gundam models, and it's worked out well. br>In fact, the top-fed gravity cup will allow you to get more paint out of this model.

Is this an airbrush mix from the inside or outside? I'm interested in painting latex masks, but I'm not familiar with the process. According to what I've heard, latex paint necessitates the use of a separate mixing brush. ?

This was purchased for my son, who is a professional mask maker, so I'd classify it as an external mix. I hope this has been of assistance.

What are the differences between enamel, acrylic, and lacquer? The focus will be on automotive hand-drawn design and the use of stencils. ?

Enamels, acrylics, and lacquer-based paints, as well as cleaners, are among the materials I use. They are all in good working order.

I've been using Iwata air brushes for years and recently purchased a new Eclipse
5/5

This was my fifth Iwata brush, and for some reason, it wasn't working properly, so I called Iwata and spoke with Ms. Taylor about it. I had a new replacement model in less than a week, and it worked flawlessly. They even included a pre-paid shipping label for returning the damaged item. It's impossible to overestimate the value of a good tech support department in terms of customer relations.

HP = High Paint Flow (and Heavier Acrylics) Excellent brush, but be careful not to thin your paint too much
4/5

As my first airbrush, I purchased this. (I haven't owned any others, so I can't give it a 5)br>br>My recommendation = This is an "HP" air brush. Please take note of the following from the Iwata website: "the Eclipse CS sprays heavier acrylics and textile paints while maintaining high-quality results. " This isn't a bad thing. detail spray characteristics"br>br>emphasis on "heavier acrylics"br>br>This isn't a bad thing. However, this does not imply that you should thin your paint excessively for this brush. I began by using it to thin citadel paints at a 1:3 ratio. 1 ratio. This is the exact opposite of what you want to do. Don't be afraid to use a thicker paint in this area so that the brush can spray consistently. Of course, your compressor is important, but if you apply too little paint, the air flow won't "grab" it at the right pressure, and your paint will "dry" before it reaches the model or whatever you're painting. When you use a thicker paint, the air flow "grabs" it better, and your paint leaves the brush before the natural air pressure dries it. br>br>What can happen if you eat too little:
- The paint will dry faster in the nozzle capbr>- The paint will not adhere to your subject's surface (this may cause the paint to be pushed around by the airbrush after it has hit your subject)br>- The paint will flow in a erratic manner. br>- Your paint will have a particularly shiny finishbr>br>I'm not a professional artist, but the bottom line is that you shouldn't thin your paint TOO much.

The enhancement in comparison to the HP- Both in terms of design and outcomes, CR is awe-inspiring
4/5

This is my second airbrush, and coincidentally, my second Iwata airbrush. I had previously used Iwata's Revolution HP- CR was my first brush, and it drove me insane as a beginner. The nozzle's three-thread connection to the airbrush body astounded me, and it made maintenance nearly impossible if air bubbles formed around the seal. When I discovered that this Eclipse brush made use of a drop-down menu, I was ecstatic. In terms of nozzle design, I immediately upgraded. I've had this brush for about a month and purchased the larger size. Painting Bandai kits requires a 5mm replacement set. The spray radius and ability to use thicker paints have been amazing, and the results you get with this brush are incredible. I don't have any photos to show off just yet, but I'll add some to this review later to show how well this brush applies paint. The only reason I gave it a one-star rating is because of my previous negative experience and the fact that it feels like I had to pay an additional $50 to get a functional design. Not to mention the fact that the larger needle set will cost an additional $20 in replacement parts. That has lost its appeal for me, and in my opinion, the brush as a whole is a disappointment. Apart from that, I would strongly suggest this to both beginners and experts.

Begin with the best airbrush on the market, which is simple to master! To say the least, this is an incredible airbrush, and I was pleasantly surprised at how simple it was to operate given that I had never used one previously
5/5

I chose this book because I wanted to start with the best. I shaded and highlighted figures and models on the first try, despite having no prior experience. The tip can spray a line so thin that it can write in the same width as pencil lead, which is incredible in paint. My recommendations are as follows: br>br> Purchase a compressor that includes a tank. You don't want one that keeps running all of the time. Those have pressure fluctuations as well, which isn't ideal. It's more than enough to use a pancake compressor. Get the quick disconnect set. br>br> It not only allows you to remove the airbrush from the hose to clean it, but it also allows you to swivel the airbrush on the hose to remove any kinks. Get a water trap/filter/gauge combo attachment. br>br> Set the pressure to 20 psi and begin airbrushing. Water, compressor oil, black specks, and other nasty stuff will clog up your hose and airbrush if you don't use it. On Amazon, you can purchase all of these items, including the pancake compressor, along with this airbrush. It's very practical.

Out of the box, the chrome finish is messed up
3/5

What happened to this brush, I'm not sure. Someone swapped their used airbrush in and returned it, or it could be a knockoff, but whatever it is, it's not the finish on a brand new airbrush. Because I'm returning it right away, I can't comment on how well it works.

THE MONEY WAS WELL SPENT
5/5

I bought a NEO airbrush, which started out great but stopped working two months after I bought it, so I went out and bought this Iwata Eclipse HP-II. It's called CS, and it's fantastic! I should have just bought it from the beginning; it's worth it to invest in a QUALITY product rather than having to buy two because the first one fails. The Eclipse is a far superior product to the NEO in terms of quality. Don't get me wrong, the NEO started out spraying really well, and when it worked, it was fantastic; the issue is that it isn't built as well as the Eclipse. You can see the differences by looking at it. The Eclipse does not have the same low-cost donut gaskets as the NEO. I'm still not sure what the problem is with the NEO, but I believe it has something to do with the O- Rings are shattering. I can't seem to get any paint out of the can; all I get is air. Although the Eclipse is still in its early stages, I believe it will last far longer than the previous one.

Excellent use of airbrushing
5/5

It's a great beginner airbrush, but it's also great for taking your airbrushing to the next level. It's very easy to clean and can handle a wide range of paint thicknesses. With a little flow aid, this bad boy can take on p3 paints, and most others can be thinned with minimal effort. Even though this guy has a slightly larger needle, he can handle the fine details with an airbrush. Put in some serious practice time with that trigger discipline, and this airbrush will not disappoint you!.
