Despite its design and elegance (as they claim), it really is very nice looking and elegant. A great deal of functionality has been added to it. The price range for this tilting easel makes it very difficult to find one that can be used horizontally as well. My easel is only used for display, so I feel guilty. A second one will probably be ordered for I was very impressed by the way that the instructions were organized by letters and the way that the parts were sequenced during assembly The language is precise and easy to understand. If one of the wooden pieces (that holds a brass piece to prevent the assembly from overturning) had not been machined incorrectly, it would have only taken 15 minutes to assemble The hole in the slot had to be drilled out for the piece to fit properly. This minor glitch will not result in any penalty to the product. I think that would have been a harsher punishment than was Nonetheless, I mention it because I think Meeden would find it helpful to know what this little issue is, so they can work with the manufacturer to resolve it. An elegant easel like this is hard to find. On mine, there are a few flaws in the craftsmanship, which make it difficult to assemble. A central location. Can I expand the slot so that the bolt holes line up with their mates? The next part is to follow.

I like the easel very much. At less than $500, this is by far the most sturdily built and stylish easel I have seen. A new arts area will be set up in our 2nd living room. I have been looking for an easel to purchase. Not for any professional art, rather for me to have a little therapeutic down time and for company to play and draw on while they visit. The easel was beautiful and I was disappointed to have to return it, but the main canvas support wobbled because it was not well constructed. Trying to fix the support didn't look like something I could do well. The item has been returned.

Overall, it's almost perfect. However, one brass collar wouldn't screw into its threaded brass collar because the collar was inserted slightly crooked into the hole in the wood, which resulted in the wood partially blocking it from screwing into the brass collar. In the end, I was able to unblock it, but I wish the manufacturer in the Netherlands had tried to screw in the knob at the factory. I really like how it looks now! It now works as expected.
