The nib can be difficult to get out of the quill due to its thin, brittle nature and inability to hold its shape well
3/5

Unfortunately, I was not able to use them because I could not remove the original nibs from the quills without breaking them off and essentially rendering the quill As a result of the ink getting between the nib and the quill, they are basically glued together. I have tried soaking it in water in order to dissolve the ink, but the nibs rust so quickly that they break easily when I put any pressure on them. However, the metal is so thin that it became brittle and shattered when I used alcohol instead. Despite the fact that these are my favorite nibs to use for calligraphy, I can't afford to buy a new nib every time one breaks (which occurs frequently).

It is durable to a certain extent
5/5

This is a product that I've used for almost 3 years now, and there are a lot of people who do as well. The line variation you get from them is quite substantial, and since I can't stand brushes, that's quite a plus for me. There are quite a few people who think my work is brush work, so yeah, it's flexible. Besides being the only person I know having broken that glass twice, I'm also the only one who has ever experienced breaking a glass. So please Be prepared to purchase a couple sticks (if you can call them that, the plastic holder things) since this box does not include them, and because the stick is plastic, it extends after a while, and new nibs do not stay in place.

Fine lines can be easily drawn with this pen
4/5

The crow quills took a lot of practice for me to learn to like I still do not use them for writing, even though I feel as if I have figured them out. The lines they're able to achieve are extremely fine, but I also love how subtle differences in pressure on the paper can make such an impact in line width. When they're used for calligraphy, they have a lot of potential. No matter what your project is, whether it's copperplate or majuscules, you can add flourishes and loops to your blackletter lettering. The only thing to keep in mind is that it will take a lot of practice and patience to get the crow quill to behave as it.

The system is precise and flexible
5/5

I love the Crow quill nibs, but they are difficult to get used to. In addition to holding an unusual amount of ink, they are also surprisingly flexible. Both of these are favorites of mine, as well as "spoon" style (512/513EF). It would have to be a coin from the Fossa family if I had to choose one over the other.

Their ability to draw freehand makes them ideal for freehand work
5/5

Ink drawings have always been my favorite way to use crow quill pens. Compared to the Pigma pens, these nibs are more expressive and allow you to line up more freely!.
