What is the composition of these pigments? Is there oil in them or are they just pure pigments?

It is true. However, depending on the kind of mixed media piece you are doing, you might not need to use the fixative until you have finished the piece.

The pastels in these boxes are the same as the ones in the pan?

The way they work is different from how pan pastels work. Jane Davenport pan pastels have more of a chalk-like texture and go on differently. I think the pan pastels are a better match for this Jane Davenport product.

As a result, I've been using a few home items to get the colors where I want them to be. -I have used Q in the past The simplest form of application is by hand! Use cotton balls, eyeshadow applicators, brushes, and plain fingertip! However, I am still learning how to use the pastels, but they have so far done a great job, and I am quite pleased.

You need to make up for your bad art! These beautiful colors, all in a small package, are smooth and pigmented leaving your page with a uniquely soft and delicate appearance! I think this is a great way to create beautiful faces without actual makeup

My Amazon box had two colors busted and the other colors were all over the place. They are not as good as Panpastel in terms of quality. In the package it mentions making faces with mixed media and for external use only, so it's unclear if it's for paper or skin. There was a feeling that the paper was coated with eyeshadow.

What I thought I knew wasn't true

In all honesty, I'm not certain whether this product is a specialized art paint or a face paint. It is packaged in a make up format, and it doesn't mix with water. You can think of it as powder paint or a makeup palette metaphorically. The color does not appear very well on paper, it is incredibly light and hard to tell where it has been applied. It is similar to subtle make up on the skin. However, it is very highly recommended by other people.

Of course the JD quality is top notch. I had purchased these from Michaels' on clearance. The girls are wearing these because I bought them for their mother. They nest together for more working space, so I have every set. Those earrings will always find a place in my collection. Although the shimmery ones don't leave me feeling that delighted, the color is essentially lost in the shimmer.
