Product Description

With our proprietary micropore sponge material, invented by PanPastel Colors specifically for its cosmetic products, the sponge holds and releases just the right amount of color every time, with a smooth, uniform finish.

Shaped especially for artists and crafters, the sponge is based on artist's brush shapes to allow many possibilities of impacting images. Effects can be achieved by using either the sponge edges or sides, depending on the application.

Easy to clean - With PanPastel Colors, just wipe on a paper towel between colors, washable, and reusable several times (number of times depends on the surface & technique used).

They can also be used to apply water-based artist's media to these sponges. Developed for PanPastel Colors, these sponges can also be used for other media.

There is 1 x Round Sponge, 1 x Flat Sponge, and 1 x Huge Oval Sponge in each package

What are the best way to use the water soluble pastels with these? Could you use charcoal instead? It is a pleasure to work with ?

My first experience with them was using them with charcoal. I would suggest being careful with your first experiment I have never used them with water soluble pan pastels. Don't worry if they mix differently than you expected if you use something you don't care about.

Are these designed only for use with pan pastels, or can they also be used with soft pastel sticks?

The pastels can also be used for really soft pastels. As for soft pastels, they are relative terms based on the manufacturer, but I have been using Unison Soft Pastels with the Colorfin pan pastel soft tools with great success. It might be of use to you.

Using a paint brush would just cause the dust to sit on the surface of the canvas, but with these tools you can make all kinds of marks and blend easily. Since these tend to wear out, you need a good supply, especially if you're working on something with a lot of tooth, such as Pastelmat, another product that I Don't fret if you don't have them they'll make you happy!.

Because of this, it would be a good choice It has been easy to blend them with soft pastels. My only experience with them was with that medium. After some concentrated use, the tiny ones that go on long sticks tear. What can we expect from that? That might be the case. Sponge that are narrow can blend into tight spaces of your art work, so it is good for your art Using a tiny amount of dish soap and water, I wash them and reuse them if they are not torn. They have done a good job for me overall.

very first time I have used PanPastels and Softtools, and I am very pleased with both of them. My favorite part about this sponge is that I am able to reuse it several times and the colors pick up so easily. It is definitely worth using them again, and I plan to do so in the future.

I like those larger sponges for Pan Pastels, and I think the special tools to use with them are other good ideas

In terms of durability, the larger sponges seem fairly durable too. I like the idea of use of special tools with Pan Pastels. When using the small sponges that fit on the hand-held tools, I find that they tear more easily even with light A 140 lb paper was used for this project. I used watercolor paper rather than heavier toothier paper, so was surprised and disappointed that the small tool sponges didn't last as long as they should. Using the small tools, I was able to pat in pastel in smaller areas, and if the small sponge applicators had been more durable, I would have given this product a higher rating.

The soft tools do wear out, but they are easily cleaned and can be re-used. They pick up the pan pastels better than a regular brush and allow for blending we cannot duplicate with a regular brush.

It would be nice if it were a bit more durable. It doesn't take long for UART to shred the paper. If the pipe area is large, it's better to use foam pipe covers. The best makeup foam you will ever use.
