Ink that lasts for a very long time is very user friendly. I have seen inks that are black, but this one isn't as black as some others I've seen. The blackest black can be obtained by shaking it. As a birthday gift for my father, I bought him this ink- The award-winning calligrapher and painter is a professional calligrapher and artist. While he was visiting us in the US, he had not brought his ink and wanted to give this new one a try. This ink worked quite nicely for the price and he would not use any other ink from now on (I am an amateur calligraphy artist and cannot tell much about it as he can) and had tried other brands before. It is true he said he would not use this in competition - Although this wasn't part of the grade arts or something to sell, the artist also said that for practice this was comparable to the practice ink he had used previously. In my own experience with this one, I also found it to be excellent. The ink I used was much better than any ink I had ever used, especially as an amateur. The ink looks good to me The black color and good flow make it a good choice. To make a drawing, I found that I didn't need a lot of time and energy. It was my expectation that the ink would last forever. Inking a drawing with watercolors after using this ink will smear it since it is water-based. It was easy to dilute to graduate grays for my painting and I was happy with the results.

My favorite thing about this ink is that it is perfect for practicing my sumi wash paintings as well as drawing and drawing. Aside from the smell, I also enjoy the taste. I'm only having trouble finding it now since it doesn't seem to have been made available anymore except through third party sellers on Amazon and eBay, where the price is now TRIPLE what it was It is very sad for me to have to buy a different brand for now but I will have to do it.

It is comparable to the rich tone of speed ball's super black and much better than Higgin's black magic (but once again, I am to blame for even bothering to try Higgin's, no offense intended).
