The number of Hardnesses is still three

There are 10 pieces and the 3 hardnesses are multiples of each other. Lead softens as it gets thinner, and pencils become more plentiful. It seems to be designed so that each of the three hardnesses last about the same amount of time before you need to buy another one. The way I see it, it works.
