Questions & Answers

What do you think it is? Is it charcoal or ?

Unfortunately, I have no idea what it means Although the product is very light and easy to use, the white pigment is difficult to achieve on paper charcoal is much easier to obtain. There is a lot of wax on it. It looks like a white crayon that's been compressed extremely well

Are these safe to use on painted chalkboard walls?

There is a little bit of softness to these things compared to regular "school" chalk You can use pastels with a hard consistency. In other words, if you can use regular chalk, you should be able to use these as well.

Could you tell me what size this stick is?

The palm of your hand is about the thickness of a pencil, and the thickness is about the width of a quarter

It is an unimpressive white charcoal that is marginally useful
3/5

As I said at the beginning of this review, I am indifferent about this product it is my primary use case to be using alongside charcoal and a sanguine stick to create drawings in "aux trois crayons. ". The solutions work, but are not as good as some Their physical attributes are the same as those of all the other generals sticks I have This one looks almost identical to the one that came in a set of "generals multi pastel compressed chalk sticks" and has the same issue. There is a noticeable distortion around both ends of the sticks caused by inconsistent cutting around the rounded lip. I assume these are extruded, cut, and then baked. It should not be a problem, but they are hard enough that they don't reshape significantly when applied, so they had to be sanded. In use, the hardness is a real factor, depending on the paper. Except for the extremely rough (read sanded) paper, a lot of force is needed to remove the paper Not at all like the advertised "soft" quality. As a result of their hardness, you will very likely have difficulty trying to layer them over any other loose medium because you must apply such force that they will certainly mix into the The hardness of this product is similar to that of the "multi pastel compressed chalk sticks" I mentioned previously, so I would say they are the same. There is only one (minor) benefit, which is that they adhere fairly well to the paper so that they aren't easily smudged, which is important if you use charcoal to prevent a dirty gray tone from resulting. You might expect the softness of graphite or even chalk if you are expecting the softness of charcoal compressed. There will be disappointment for you. My overall impression is that this isn't a very satisfying experience. This is the.

Charcoal sticks of the Generals white color
3/5

As my product has been with me for some time and I consider it to be worthy of review So let's get right down to business I will - Generally, this approach can work with some effort* when trying to display something on a dark paper surface The white highlights are - *A fast delivery is one of its pros. I will - Despite its waxy nature, it takes a lot of pressure and layering for it to show up well (I believe the reason for this is that there is barely any pigment in it).
- When pressure is applied to a system, it can lead to failure The paper will be shaped in a way that makes it less appealing
***This could be pros or cons Wherever you apply it, the charcoal results in a glossy surface. I am disappointed with the product overall. Of course, it has its uses, but in my opinion I feel I can get my job done faster by using something like a white marker or a white jelly roll While I wanted to include some pictures, my picture-taking skills aren't what I'd like them to be This is uncanny Currently, I have no way to get a clear image of my computer because the device is broken. It is my hope that you will understand and that this review meets your needs.

It is preferable to use white charcoal over white conte crayon
3/5

Excellent product and the same brand as the one sold by Dick Bliss (where universities get
I have done the eyes using conte crayons. All the rest is compressed charcoal in black and white.
In college I used chalk for white and white conte crayon for black. It's my first time using A white conte crayon with a lot more intensity (use less) is the kind I prefer to use.

My first charcoal drawing was rather bland, so I decided to add white to it
5/5

I am relatively new to art but am learning some new techniques. I started by using charcoal and liked it, but was looking for something more. In the end, I ordered those compressed charcoal sticks in white. They work very well for me, and I am very happy about how smoothly and evenly they Since it is charcoal and not chalk, it cannot be used for chalkboards. I just wanted to let you know. This works best when used on paper used for sketching or mixed media projects. Use any type of paper, including watercolor paper, without using heavy card stock or a thicker card stock. Sketching paper of any quality can be used.
I love this product as it is both excellent and a great value especially when added on to other products. It is something I will be buying.

This appears to be a change in Once upon a time this was considered the norm That is the way to go with white charcoal for me
3/5

In some ways, this felt a lot more oily than it always has and was incredibly difficult to blend in well, providing difficult lines regardless of what I did if I needed the white to stand out. As an alternative to white chalkboard chalk, it didn't seem too different.

When using charcoal and other mixed materials, it is a necessity
5/5

Several years ago, I learned how to draw and shade with charcoal, and we didn't have these little beauties, hmmmm. Maybe I should have tried regular white chalk instead. Well, I used to look like a mechanic when I used charcoal, lol, and my mom said it made me look like a grease monkey. The pieces of white are difficult for ME to use since I wasn't taught how to use them. I still get too much of the black in them. The pieces all seem to be very good & they also have a very distinctive style This is a great purchase. Happy Arts.

We had no problems with them
3/5

Definitely different from white charcoal. This was my first purchase, so I had no idea what to expect. I had to vigorously rub these - there seemed to be some sort of glaze on top? After purchasing some charcoal pencils with white ink, the results were much better!.

The charcoal I buy is only from this brand
5/5

I like it because it's white and compressed. I have used these on black paper and they work fine. It's impossible to receive one of these without one getting broken, but they're usually broken in half so it's not really a big.
