They are the best charcoal pencils that I have ever used. To do my sketches, I want a very dark rich black, and these are perfect. I have not yet found a darker black. Their smoothness and ease of blending make them great for mixing. It's important to be careful when sharpening charcoal pencils since, like all charcoals, they can easily break if not sharpened properly. Use of a sandpaper, utility knife or special sharpener is what I do. Those who draw with charcoal should check these out.

My thanks to them for offering me such a good set of pencils. I have purchased it several times and have been With a big variety of hardnesses to choose from, it's nice to have a white pencil and a kneaded eraser included in the pack too. Since I'm still a charcoal beginner, maybe a novice by now, there are few other brands I'm familiar with.
