A 12 inch square Mylar stencil measures just 5 1/8" in diameter and 4" from top to bottom so just the bee itself has a wing span of 5 1/8". In total, the stencil will be about 9 1/4" wide by 11" tall when cut out.

You need to make sure the stencil is flat so paint won't leak out.
It has been done with other bee stencils as well. You might consider taping some extra material around the edges of the part that you cut out so that you don't have to worry about narrow margins if you are using a stenciling brush.

This stencil is being given to I rate it as a 2. This is a very generous offer. It is a great stencil in and of itself. Nevertheless, it was very bent when it arrived. The stencil was not rolled during shipping and shipped in a small square box, so the corners molded to the stencil. The flattening out of the books is still ongoing. In a sense, you'd expect that they would know how to package their stencils correctly.
I measured exactly as per the picture and it does exactly what is shown in the picture.
