It should not be rinsed off if it is being used with acrylic paint. Stencils are strengthened by the acrylic as it dries on them! This is the same idea as the one whose comment said they sealed it. It's great to have them!

Who made them? This is a paper stencil, not an electronic stencil, which I fell for when I did not read the details. Paper stencils - why would anyone want them? These are not heavy duty as some describe. They are the color of cardboard but are not much thicker than those used on the back of legal pads. Why do they recommend coating them first? Is that so stupid? They will become bloated and warped after a while, and will be even more difficult to keep flat when you work on them. A product that isn't ready to use straight out of the wrapper is a waste of time, and a product that needs to be treated to make it ready is more costly. Purchasing Faber-Castell seemed like a good idea to me Quality was the hallmark of Castell. Even the reusable part of the advertisements seems to be true. It is not possible to return these items. It's a shame, I really shouldn't give any stars to them since I did not use them. A credit has been issued to my original payment method by Amazon.
