Basically, it is a rod made from wood that is squared off at the top. There's a large and rounded bottom rod on it, and the material of the bottom rod is hard to tell, since it's Painting over a lightweight wood surface with acrylic paint might be appropriate. Hanging the scroll on the wall, the bottom one will hold it open when it is heavy enough. I like it a lot.
The intention is to hang it vertically, not horizontally. Because of the end pieces, the piece would appear awkward if it were horizontal. A horizontally hung one is something I have yet to see.

I was quickly sent the product, the package was well-made, and the product worked well for the project I bought it for.
This is a mediocre product - high quality paper or fabric are not expected at this price point. I had trouble getting the students to keep their sketch clean after trying to erase their pencil marks, but they all had a great time creating their art pieces (they used colored Sharpies). I like that it is easy to hang the scrolls up and that they look nice from a teach in an elementary school, or if you practice Chinese arts amateurishly, then you should definitely try!.
These scrolls were purchased for a specific project and the dimensions noted in the description were necessary. Listed as being 10 square inches, the usable / calligraphy areas are somewhat small. The dimensions are 6 inches by 13 inches. There are 8 pieces in total in the actual size. The dimensions are 75 x 15 inches. My purchase would not have taken place if this had been listed properly.
The price at this point will get you something basic - This is not an ugly or luxurious design. This paper has a bit of a rough surface- This is great for ink drawing and markers of that sort. The rolled up edges show some creases, but overall the roll up is good. I would say that it is adequate, if you don't have too high expectations.
Ideally suited for Chinese Brush Painting, this board is the perfect size. Gray silver is a very subtle addition to the painting and will not detract from it. The price is great and you will have a hard time finding these.
In this way, my family was able to tie their travels to our project. As part of the project I wanted to display some simple paper art that we created. Scrolls like this were perfect for storing that type of information.
It was well suited for my needs.
It was just what I wanted.
