My experience with these tools was in encaustic art. I am not familiar with pyrography, so I cannot comment on the effectiveness of its use.
Despite their size, the cradle stands easily by itself without a stand or support. The sides of the cradle measure 1.75 inches. The depth of the jar is 5". As soon as you knock into them, they will topple over Nevertheless, picture frames and other stands for paintings are typically made from metal. them for encaustic paintings and I'm pleased with their

As a rule, I first paint titanium white acrylic paint on. There is no need to prepare the surface in any way. I simply apply it directly. The panels are very good. The time I save here can be used to do what I want to do most. Paint. As someone who has cut and made panels for many years, I'm glad this doesn't require me to do the hand labor of cutting and making them myself.

Panels of this caliber are not cheap, but they are pretty decent. I like their durability, flat, unwarped surfaces, and the fact that they are not going to fall apart anytime soon. * Here are some issues I had It's - In many cases, the corners of the books were crushed. Despite the efforts of the crew, the adhesive/glue that holds the panels together wasn't well cleaned up. In the edges, you can see glue that squeezed out and dried, so the look isn't I. - There were thin edges on the face of the panel that were not all sanded smooth* - a problem if you are painting on the panel, but mounting photos on the panel may be an issue. Despite one issue, the panel is only bad when used for an unintended purpose (photo mounting). As a result, we gave it 4 instead of 3 stars. As I painted my panels to cover the adhesive on the edges, it worked well, but if you want to keep the unfinished wood look, if you want to put a little effort into it, you might be able to sand off the adhesive marks.
There is too much depth here. As recommended in an online art class, I bought these. Although I wish I had read the product description in greater detail before I bought it. However, I think there is one fault in the quality. Five inches is too much depth for a panel that only measures eight inches in square footage. My wish would be for it to be more like that. The depth of the chamber is 75 inches. This is the kind of panel I plan to purchase more often If, however, having a deeer pane makes you feel like your work is more fancy and "gallery-worthy", then go for it If you are looking for a product with “depth" then this is.
The wood bases I bought are meant to be used for mosaic artwork bases containing stained glass. There was no damage (as other reviewers have reported), they were smooth, and they were ready to use once they arrived. The gesso has sealed them nicely, and I've not had any issues with my art tess staying attached after creating it. They have hollow backs, so they can be hung easily, but are thick enough on the back sides to easily be hung with sawtooth hangers. would buy from this seller again, as I think they're great wood bases.
A piece in progress was completely ruined when the wood separated from the frame.
There is no need to sand them before painting them. I prefer these over the American Easel panels.
The next time I order these, I will definitely order more. Besides being an artist, I also have a business. Painting on wood panels is my favorite thing to do. We are very happy with the quality of the product. The next time I order these, I will definitely order more.
They have a beautiful finish and are an excellent surface for artwork. During my drawing and painting days, I used acrylic paint and India ink in them. It was smooth and flawless from start to finish. The product is excellent, and I plan to.
